I have a BA in European Business and Languages and an MA in Applied Translation Studies (Leeds). For the past 10 years I have been a freelance translator, and I love what I do. During this time I. A wide range of texts, from knitting patterns to car park magazines, but most have been related to business, the EU and medico-legal matters. Attended another of eCPD's excellent webinars, this time on Financial Translating. It is not an area I would claim to specialise in, but so much financial and economic information appears in business and legal texts it is impossible to get by without some knowledge of finance. Registered for VAT (voluntarily of course! Attended the ITI Workshop at Leeds University. Fantastic day, put some faces to names and met a lot of interesting people. Looking forward to the next one.

I attended a workshop recently, where one of my colleagues mentioned he kept a list on his website of the types of documents he had translated that month. "What a great idea! I thought. This is the type of information a client might like to know, but is far too lengthy for a normal CV. Since then I've noticed that quite a few translators use the same device. So thanks to him for the tip, and here is my list. Obviously this is not a complete list of every document, just an overall idea of what I do.
