Kitten and Jamo's Travels: March 2006

http://jimkittentravelling.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html

Kitten and Jamo's Travels. Sunday, March 19, 2006. Australia - Sydney and The Whitsundays. Arriving back in Sydney was a god damn dream and we had a couple of fantastic days living it up. After South America and feeling the strain of backpacking I got a cracker of a deal on the internet for our first night in a posh hotel by circular quay and told jim we were going to a hostel so it was a welcome surprise! Next stop is over to Perth for a couple of weeks on the West coast. Lots of love to you all. New Ze...

Kitten and Jamo's Travels. Tuesday, January 03, 2006. Well leaving England when it was two degrees outside was tough - especially as the weather in Rio was a crisp clear, sunny 35, but we managed to get ourselves safely to our hotel, complete with an all you can eat breakfast and jacuzzi bath.no travelling pikeyness here! The views of the city were unbelievable. Then we took part in the old tradition of making a wish by throwing flowers in the sea. Posted by Kitten and Jamo at 10:33 AM. But its not long!

Kitten and Jamo's Travels. Sunday, February 26, 2006. Chile - Groundshakingly good.well, almost. We made it out of Peru and over the border into Chile and ended up in a little town by the coast called Arica. After the third-worldlyness of Peru it was a pleasant change to see paved roads and people with teeth so we celebrated by heading straight off to the beach.and there were waves! All round great day. After a few hot beachy days we headed further south to La Serena which is good for stargazing. we ...

Who do we think we are? Tales of sex, drugs, rock'n'roll, south london and crystal palace. Tuesday, August 30, 2005. Yes, the middle ages have truly arrived. Thirty three today. The unemployeds of Battersea are celebrating in style. Poached egg for breakfast and maybe even a bottle of wine tonight. Truly budget breaking! Tune in again soon to find out what happens with the council. And, yes, it's Ms Love's turn at the words wheel next time. Vietnam comes to flat 41. And did those feet in ancient times.

Who do we think we are? Tales of sex, drugs, rock'n'roll, south london and crystal palace. Monday, August 22, 2005. Okay, so now the dust has settled, the travelling is over, the real test begins, exactly what do we write on this website? Without a baby to take reams of photos of, without travelling tales, it seems only a matter of time before we have to resort to that staple of blog sites around the world - the list of unconnected thoughts and observations. I've been on pete tong don't you know.

Who do we think we are? Tales of sex, drugs, rock'n'roll, south london and crystal palace. Sunday, October 16, 2005. Where's the spontaneity gone? Anyway, the weekly update is as follows. One week at work clocked up for both of us. Only another 1499 weeks till retirement. Approximately. Still no prize from the Independent, buses now flying across Battersea Bridge, and a weekend in Leamington Spa with Nick, Liz et family. Cue obligatory baby photos to follow. Rough guides, jumpers and outer mongolia.

Who do we think we are? Tales of sex, drugs, rock'n'roll, south london and crystal palace. Sunday, October 30, 2005. A working life leaves no time free for updating the website and taking photos. Considering going travelling again. More rain in Glasgow, looking at houses to buy in London, pork belly in Oxford and not much more. Oh, and of course the humbling of the European Champions by Crystal Palace. I even watched the game in a pub in Glasgow called The Crystal Palace. You couldn't make it up.

Our thoughts are still with Sharon (winner of the RGJOM poster of the year, and still responsible for 98% of all the page views to this site! And wedding talk all round. Congratulations to more newly engageds as well - Andy and Sam and Claire and Stuart. Rough guides, jumpers and outer mongolia. Nige and jen in nz.

Who do we think we are? Tales of sex, drugs, rock'n'roll, south london and crystal palace. Sunday, November 13, 2005. Well, this week in Glasgow it managed not to rain till Thursday morning, when, sure enough, the 300m walk from hotel to office/shop, was accompanied by the usual torrential rain, flooded pavements and wet feet. Thankfully it had cleared up by the time I escaped to fly south again, the sun even came out briefly. The weather eh, where do you begin? In an english country garden.

Who do we think we are? Tales of sex, drugs, rock'n'roll, south london and crystal palace. Friday, September 16, 2005. A mixed bag of a few days. Jobwise the hunt continues. Interview count for the week stands at Pete 5 Courtney 4. Not bad considering we were at the society wedding till Wednesday. And all for proper jobs, not pointless workouts with recruitment consultants eager to try out their training. 'so Pete, tell me 10 things that your friends would say about you.' ffs. Who do we think we are? Tales of sex, drugs, rock'n'roll, south london and crystal palace. Thursday, October 06, 2005. Sainsbury's part 1 and 2. Did Pete write about the Sainsbury's at Bluebird closing? This happened last Saturday - our 'local' (we have shopped there twice since moving here) supermarket closing down at 2pm. At 1pm we popped in to see what kind of bargains we could nab. All perishables at rock bottom prices! Vouchers which needed to be used by the end of this week. Monday, October 03, 2005.

Who do we think we are? Tales of sex, drugs, rock'n'roll, south london and crystal palace. Sunday, November 06, 2005. The townies invaded sleepy Dorset at the weekend. 21 people packed into a big, and quite run-down, manor house in celebration of Andy's 30th birthday. Tried cooking for 20 people on a aga? Witches and birthday cake. Sam, birthday boy and a fish in a skirt. Still, after all these years, more fun setting up than playing. The 3 minutes of outdoor action. The scary man sat in the garden.

Who do we think we are? Tales of sex, drugs, rock'n'roll, south london and crystal palace. Thursday, August 11, 2005. Okay, so the original idea, straight from Comedy Central, was to call it bobbins.blogpsot.com. However, amazing as it seems, someone beat us to that. So the halfway house compromise became thebobbin.blogspot.com. But who can remember that? With that, a star was born. In preparation for becoming a proper married couple next year, we are busy inviting people round for 'dinner'. As the l...

Jim Kjelgaard, Books for Boys

Books for Boys (of all ages). If you search the Internet, you will find hundreds of testimonials from men who were introduced to the world of books by their fascination with the young-adult novels of Jim Kjelgaard. Even though his books were written in the 1940's and 1950's, the universal themes are as fresh today as they were then. Most of his novels told the story of a special bond between a man or boy and his dog. The Southwest is brimming over with such tales, and John Bascomb believed them. 1) Jim K...
