a certain East Texas hammock. | the unobservant bird
https://joannaeking.wordpress.com/2012/11/28/a-certain-east-texas-hammock
Cameras Behind the Blog. Girl Behind the Cameras. A certain East Texas hammock. A good portion of my childhood visits to TX was spent in the hammock under these trees. I hope Elsie has many more chances over many more years to have the same experience. November 28, 2012. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Cameras Behind the Blog. Girl Behind the Cameras. I finally finished off a roll of film that I began on our trip to Arkansas. One day we took a stroll in the woods on a mossy path. John kept an eye out for black bears. Elsie slept, and when she woke she looked at the trees and when she got tired of doing that she slept again. I was just happy to spy a changing leaf here or there. We have an almost-seven-month-old? How did that happen? November 26, 2012. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Cameras Behind the Blog. Girl Behind the Cameras. I recently read a quotation that resonated with me (though I haven’t actually read the book from which it was taken), because it touches on things that I have been mulling over, in less succinct words, for awhile:. 8220;Superficiality is the curse of our age … The desperate need today is not for a greater number of intelligent people, or gifted people, but for deep people.”. 8211; Richard Foster,. Here’s the deal: I want to develop real, personal,. Not ha...

A camera expert myself, so I know my knowledge and terminology and descriptions might be simplistic. Bear that in mind! Tales from the Crib: September 2012
http://ourtalesfromthecrib.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
September 26, 2012. Posted by ♥ ♥ ♥. September 25, 2012. Hard to believe, I know. How did that happen? Elizabeth has grown so fast. It's crazy to think of her as a big girl now. Although, since she did miss the kindergarten cut off by a few days, I still like to think I have ONE more year of my "preschooler." So even though she's five, I still have one more year before she's "officially" a big girl in my book. At least, that's what I keep telling myself. If you're wondering, Elizabeth helped me bake "som...

May 27, 2013. I can't believe I haven't blogged since last October! It is amazing to think of all the things that have happened between then and now. Of greatest note, we had our baby! Benjamin Miles was born March 21 weighing 9lbs 4oz and 21 inches long. He is now 2 months old and just the sweetest, happiest baby around. We are SO blessed. And thankful for everyone's prayers. Tales from the Crib: December 2011
http://ourtalesfromthecrib.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
December 27, 2011. We hope you all had a fantastic Christmas! I know we sure did! Although, it wasn't easy because I ended up catching a nasty cold (possibly flu) early in the week- fortunately no tummy issues, but fevers, aches, chills, sore throat, headache, and lots of congestion. Still, I was determined to get everything done on my list and to have a great Christmas. And I have to say, we did just that! I figured that if even HE knew that's what she really. I think I overdid it too soon. When they fi...

Tales from the Crib: February 2012
http://ourtalesfromthecrib.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
February 28, 2012. Well, as is often the case- the weather guys were wrong. What was just a "slight" possibility of flurries, turned into a HEAVY snowfall. And by the time we got out of church, the roads were COMPLETELY covered! Gotta say, it was a little scary. Our church is out in the country. We have to take back roads, around curves and heavy woods, in order to get there. We literally sang "Over the river and through the woods" on the way home- lol! The entire way home I made Vassil drive VERY slowly!

Tales from the Crib: April 2012
http://ourtalesfromthecrib.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
April 19, 2012. So one day when I was busy in another room, I heard the kids giggling like crazy, and decided I'd better go see what was going on. This is what I found:. Apparently, the kids decided that Bella (who is a short haired dog) needed a haircut. The scissors are not in this pic, because I immediately put them away and sent the kids to timeout. Poor Bella. She sure does put up with a lot with these kids. Haircuts included! Posted by ♥ ♥ ♥. Elizabeth, 4.5. Posted by ♥ ♥ ♥. April 12, 2012. This li...

my huntley life: another new beginning

Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Every new beginning comes. From some other beginning's end.". Sean about to get his first tooth - July 2005. Sean about to lose his first tooth - May 2011. After three weeks of gentle wiggling and carefully biting his food with his side teeth, Sean's first loose tooth was finally jolted almost. Got quarters for our teeth. We figured the tooth fairy's rates have probably changed in the last 25 years, so decided maybe a dollar might be more appropriate. (I was just thankful w...I gue...

Friday, July 30, 2010. The best part of texas. Our long-awaited trip to Texas finally happened last week. When vacation time is limited, and you have more than two places you'd like to go, at least one of them always has to get deleted. For us, Texas has always been that place. But this year, we were able to make it happen, and I'm so glad we did. Links to this post. Friday, July 2, 2010. Links to this post. Thursday, July 1, 2010. Meet frederick 1 and frederick 2.

Here we are parked by the pier at Sunset Beach, North Carolina. My childhood vacation spot! Love this place and so excited to let Stephan experience it! Oooh, how I wish we could've stayed in one of these cottages! Someday we will go back with more people and do that. More to come soon! Links to this post.

From California Valley Girl to Tennessee Country Girl. A New and Better Blog! September 6, 2011. The time has come for me to transfer my blog from being hosted for free on WordPress.COM to WordPress.ORG, where it will be hosted by a third party site. I’ll have a lot more control over the layout and appearance of my site, and I’m excited to play around with different looks. It will still be under the domain. So you won’t have to worry about going to a different website to continue reading my blog. So far ...
