The only 1/20 scale plans I could find are in French so the first job was to translate the terms. Deck Camber Crown Calculator

Only use mm Max beam=4000 Crown=80 beam at P=3000. The deck's curvature at the maximum beam is shown by the blue and green areas. The blue shows the part of the deck curvature for your specified point "P" on the sheer line. The new crown height is the crown height at maximum beam less the height at P. The heights are calculated using trigonometry. (Now you know why we teach it). The curvature where a coachroof/hatch meets the deck can be calculated. For a full size example.

The "Jolie Brise" has a 48 feet waterline lenght which is 2.4 feet at 1/20 scale. If you scaled down from the actual hull speed, the model's speed should be 0.5 knots. The formulae above shows the hull speed to be 2 knots. The model appears to be sailing 4 times faster. For a fuller explination, go to South Manchester Model Boat Club. The stream was flowing at 0.5m/s = 1 knot. (1km/hr = 0.54 knots).

All the timber parts are lazer cut to a high standard. I show how to plank the hull and other areas where the information is lacking.
