Simplicity in Chaos: Training Camps
http://jackcartwright.blogspot.com/2010/06/training-camps.html
The thoughts and experiences of a triathlete trying to fit it all in. Friday, 4 June 2010. What I found in Mallorca was a cyclists paradise, decent running and an average place for swimming. In March, the sea is still very cold and there aren't tons of pools available (I did find one decent one in Palma) and our hotel had a 50m outdoor pool that was not heated (I swam in with my wetsuit.much to the amusement of the other guests). The thoughts and experiences of a triathlete trying to fit it all in. Monday, 19 April 2010. Look for this blog to become more dynamic as I will start to approach topics other than my personal journey in this sport. I will start to share ideas on products that I use, nutrition and race strategies, and other more (hopefully) useful topics for endurance athletes. Thursday, 15 April 2010. Oh well, back to my taper. Simplicity in Chaos: March 2009
http://jackcartwright.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
The thoughts and experiences of a triathlete trying to fit it all in. Monday, 23 March 2009. All in all, the weekend in Greece was more holiday and less training, but unfortunately for me and those around me, I could not get my head around from my frustration with my knee and was a bit of a stress case the whole time. I do look forward to joing Alex and Duncan for one of their camps (or many) both to provide coaching and to enjoy their fantastic training environment and great location. The week ahead is ...

You may have heard of the Vibrams FiveFingers and have already come up with an opinion on them (cool, freaky, totally unacceptable.). Why are these causing a revolt? The thoughts and experiences of a triathlete trying to fit it all in. Thursday, 26 February 2009. And only relaxed them on the short descents. By the end of the second lap on the bike, I was definitely pretty tired and had not caught the riders in front of me, but had hope that I might be able to run them down on the final 5km run. I got through T2 pretty quickly but nearly ran off with my bike helmet still firmly on my head (doh! Friday, 20 February 2009. For example, if I have 6-7 runs, 4 swims, 4 ride...

The thoughts and experiences of a triathlete trying to fit it all in. Wednesday, 19 May 2010. Now that Zipp has joined the other manufacturers and is now producing the 404 in a carbon clincher model, is there any reason to not own a pair? My next training wheels will be carbon clinchers. Simplicity in Chaos: August 2009
http://jackcartwright.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
The thoughts and experiences of a triathlete trying to fit it all in. Friday, 28 August 2009. Eton Sprint and random thoughts. I mean not so much that the race itself was epic, but damn the weather made it just seem that much more so. The funny thing about the weather, was that I thought about bagging the whole thing as a short race like a sprint is not a major goal, but on the flip side it was a short race. One hour and I would be done so how badly could it really be? Monday, 24 August 2009. Pre race ac...

The thoughts and experiences of a triathlete trying to fit it all in. Monday, 28 June 2010. Trek’s Speed Concept – major step forward? Does this bike really take a step forward in both aero and functionality? As for functionality, it certainly looks like Trek has done a stellar job on their homework with an amazing front brake, hidden cables, hidden rear brake, aero storage fairing, a better bento box and even aero quick releases. Did I mention the implanted Ant receiver? Friday, 4 June 2010. Depending o...

Simplicity in Chaos: February 2010
http://jackcartwright.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
The thoughts and experiences of a triathlete trying to fit it all in. Monday, 15 February 2010. How badly do we need technology when we train? Until January 2010, that is. In the span of one week, my SRM broke and my GPS forgot how to pick up satellites. In just a few days, I went from seeing power numbers, estimating calorie usage, measuring training stress scores and seeing my pace to one thing: a stop watch. How distraught was I at that moment?
