Homeschooling the Chaos: Reading/Phonics
http://homeschoolingchaos.blogspot.com/p/readingphonics.html
What is just so crazy about me. Reading is a focus in our house. Not because we come natural by it either. My husband and I are both engineers. He is like a photographic memory that made me want to puke in high school. Me, I did not have a bit of comprehension until I was thankfully tortured by an english major then turned engineer graduate professor! So I really want to get my kids on the best foundation I can. Thanks to a clearance sell at Sam's, I got all of the beginning reader sets. Set 1, Book 1 Mat.

Homeschooling the Chaos: Our 2012-2013 School Year - Routine
http://homeschoolingchaos.blogspot.com/2012/09/our-2012-2013-school-year-routine.html
What is just so crazy about me. Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Our 2012-2013 School Year - Routine. I am not really going to know how it all works out until I am probably 90 years old and seen how the accumulation of all of my efforts and decisions blossomed into reality. Besides, I feel like a dipstick in the pursuit of what works for us. Our Basic Weekly Routine. This is our no school day! I don't even check it, but I will say I have had to improve on my mommy what is this word spelling coming from the...

Homeschooling the Chaos: September 2011
http://homeschoolingchaos.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
What is just so crazy about me. Tuesday, September 27, 2011. I was really excited when I found these books. We were using the regular spiral notebooks. That we took all that time to recovered, but the lines were a bit confusing for them. When I seen this notebook, I knew we would be better off. So where did I find this little gem, you ask! Can you believe it! I guess before I can really layout my curriculum, I really need to figure out the goals we have for first and kindergarten. I read the new stat...

Homeschooling the Chaos: A Place to Learn
http://homeschoolingchaos.blogspot.com/2012/09/a-place-to-learn.html
What is just so crazy about me. Sunday, September 23, 2012. A Place to Learn. Our official start date is the week of labor day. I plan to use that week just to celebrate school, do some fun little projects, introduce the books to the kids, and begin a couple of our books that have much needed introductions. I honestly have a problem! I do not know what to do. I know I can make the dining room work in a pinch, but I cannot wrap my brain around it to get things ready. I am so overwhelmed with the c...I kno...

Homeschooling the Chaos: What is just so crazy about me
http://homeschoolingchaos.blogspot.com/p/what-is-just-so-crazy-about-me.html
What is just so crazy about me. What is just so crazy about me. To start with, I have spent the past 6 years or more fitting into a mold that wasn't me when it came to managing my home. I was trying to fill the illusion that the home magazines had sold me on and my husband thinks he wants. I am easily bored with a project and happily move on. My best tool to continue on is to find an anchor of a friend to pin part of me there. I need to be held accountable and reminded. I would rather live in the chaos o...

Homeschooling the Chaos: Keeping it Simple, simple, simple
http://homeschoolingchaos.blogspot.com/2013/05/keeping-it-simple-simple-simple.html
What is just so crazy about me. Monday, May 6, 2013. Keeping it Simple, simple, simple. I am happy to report, we are still home schooling. I am thankful to be just months away from completing an entire year of home school with out giving up! I am most definitely still in the freshman years of homeschooling and constantly trying to find our fit with curriculum. I feel successful still, we had our 5th child on New Years Eve! I hope that you will join me there. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Homeschooling the Chaos: October 2011
http://homeschoolingchaos.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
What is just so crazy about me. Tuesday, October 18, 2011. Phonic Word Wall Book. I bought Systematic Sequential Phonics about 2 years ago, but I found my then Pre-K, but almost 5 year old was not ready. So it got shelved. As I am organizing our school supplies, I came across it and realized it would fit nicely into our first grade work. I think it could work good for even kindergarten, but my boy is just not there yet. So this book does a nice job telling mom what to do! Tract the words they learn.

Homeschooling the Chaos: August 2011
http://homeschoolingchaos.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
What is just so crazy about me. Friday, August 19, 2011. Things just happen to go differently. This is our bible verse for this week’s spelling. I find that I really need to turn it into a self centered verse to really hear what the Lord is telling me. By the way, yes, I am using my fridge as a white board. So what makes this charter worth it:. Students progress at their pace, not the standard. Mixed grade classes, so mine will be together in the K-2. Agriculture and sustainable practice focus.
