Just Walking This Earth: March 2012
http://justwalkingthisearth.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Just Walking This Earth. Friday, March 30, 2012. All Dressed Up - 1900 Style. Did they have a telephone? Was there running water? What kind of buggy did they use? What did they wear? The questions I face every time I sit down to write are never ending. Finding the answers is one of the joys of writing historical fiction. What women wore at the turn of the 20th Century is at the top of my list since one of my characters is a seamstress. I got help on this topic from a trip to the Living History Farms.

J.P. Lane: January 2016

Thursday, January 21, 2016. Has love become a second-hand emotion? There are red hearts all over the place. Why a day devoted to celebrating this most celebrated of emotions? Cynics may claim it’s "a Hallmark opportunity,” but card manufacturers can’t seize an opportunity that doesn’t exist. With few exceptions, people need to love and be loved in one way or another. Understanding that there is more than one kind of love, the ancient Greeks had four words for love: éros. Affection, friendship, storgē.

http://authorjplane.blogspot.com/2015_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 22, 2015. WHICH ARE THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS? There’s been a lot of controversy over when the Twelve Days of Christmas begin and end, but the Church of England stands firm that the first day of Christmas begins at sunset on Christmas Eve and ends on the night of January 5. Twelfth Night). I’m in the other camp who believe the First Day of Christmas is Christmas Day and the Twelfth Day of Christmas is January 6. Speaking of presents, I've often wondered how all those presents came to...

J.P. Lane: NO LONGER GREEN AS GRASS
http://authorjplane.blogspot.com/2015/04/no-longer-green-as-grass.html
Wednesday, April 29, 2015. NO LONGER GREEN AS GRASS. Three years, and what a ride,. Though it seems like yesterday when my author friend, Linda Nance, hosted a Facebook event for the launch of The Tangled Web. As far as I remember, my only involvement was making the book free for the event – which was a disaster – for 37 terrifying hours. Every author’s nightmare. I went back to bed and woke at around 6:00. Still no price change. I began to have a bad feeling. And then it happened. 43 Kindle Reviews Later.

J.P. Lane: I've got my marching orders
http://authorjplane.blogspot.com/2015/10/ive-got-my-marching-orders.html
Thursday, October 1, 2015. I've got my marching orders. You're thinking this is awful, aren't you? It's more than awful because the only reason the elephants and rhinos are being illegally poached is because a lot of people like ivory and others erroneously believe rhino horn has medicinal properties. The lions are under threat because there are people who actually enjoy killing lions for fun and they have the means to go to Africa and hunt them. So what can we do? Global march for elephants and rhinos.

J.P. Lane: November 2014
http://authorjplane.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 29, 2014. The first time I met the Pacific. I remember the first time I met the Pacific. My husband and I were driving through a Redwood grove in northern California, seven miles of serenity without another car in sight. It was then that I sensed her presence. There was still no sign of her, but the air suddenly began to stir with the promise of something bigger than the verdant foliage that had, until that moment. Photo: paradoxoutside.blogspot.com.
