MB's Adventures: March 2011
http://mbsadventures.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 26, 2011. To talk or not to talk, which is the victory? For those of you who don't know me, the "suffering" I would be talking about was the loss of my son, Tai, fourteen years before, and some pretty difficult associated fallout, involving my grieving husband turning to cocaine, and my daughter and I eventually having to literally sneak out the back door one day to get away while he was sleeping.]. Good, sensible decision. Whew. Glad that's settled. No problem. Except....And some vict...

MB's Adventures: January 2009
http://mbsadventures.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 23, 2009. Mbale Sundays with Mzungu Mama - Part One. 1 .on being punctual . After eight months here, I have a fairly good idea of the difference between African time and Westerner time. It's simple: To maintain your Mzungu sanity, just plan on arriving everywhere at least a half hour. 160;So while we were waiting for other people to show up - specifically the Bible study teacher - we got out my camera and took a couple photographs of ourselves in our Sunday best. . Crystal Winton (tea...

Saturday, March 14, 2009. Pretty sure" is the answer. Now what was the question? Before I tell you, please take a look at some photos taken a few Sundays ago. Phillip and James praying for a new brother and sister in Christ. Gathering at the river. Now the sister are buried in baptism. A final prayer of thanksgiving and blessing. Not given by me; I was just privileged to be standing near the sister.). But I did get to hug her right after the prayer! Are you sure that you are up for it? On a happier note,...

Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Traditions that will be hard to end. I know things change constantly in life.but some times those changes are just really hard. There are 2 things that I have a feeling might change for me in 2011 that I will have a hard time stomaching. 4 th. Of July and our yearly visit with Santa are 2 of those things that I look forward to so much each year. This year they might be different. Here are some pictures from 2010 4 th. The Noble Family: October 2009
http://ethanandnina.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 25, 2009. We met Mark's parents, Carl and Jaime in Hilton Head a few weeks ago for our annual beach trip. Every year it gets better and better.but I think this year topped them all. The kids being a little older was a plus for sure! This year we were in a house that was huge and had our own pool. That was so nice! The weather was fabulous - no rain and still very warm temps, but not July/August hot. The kids absolutely loved the ocean - the rougher the better! Thursday, October 1, 2009.

MB's Adventures: Sometimes it's hard to guess the ending
http://mbsadventures.blogspot.com/2010/09/sometimes-its-hard-to-guess-ending.html
Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Sometimes it's hard to guess the ending. The land dedication lasted until early Friday morning, and we all knew that God had had the victory that night. But the story isn't over yet. No, indeed. Today, Shadrack, the guard who works out at the land, came to meet with Phillip at the office. Shadrack had been plagued by a large snake - "Oh, very large, very, very large! No The snake decided to leave the just-dedicated land. It began to cross the road. Julie Reagan (teacher on Mba...

MB's Adventures: So I guess Dr. Don's to blame?
http://mbsadventures.blogspot.com/2009/10/so-i-guess-dr-dons-to-blame.html
Sunday, October 4, 2009. So I guess Dr. Don's to blame? I am office manager at Brown Pruitt Peterson and Wambsganss, and I am in Don Ferrill's office, waiting to ask a question. He ignores me to finish reading something on his computer, so I shamelessly peek over his shoulder to see what is so engrossing. Ah! It's a newsletter from Phillip Shero, giving the highlights of the recent University Advisors' Summit held in Mbale, Uganda. I sigh. "Oh, how exciting! December 2, 2009 at 8:14 AM. I was the office ...

undulations...: September 2009

This is one place I've chosen to let my thoughts run more freely. Feel free to entertain them when you have the time. they're mostly inquisitive and curious and always looking for more to toss around. Can't guarantee that they won't bark or snap at you from time-to-time, but I'm pretty sure they won't ever draw blood. Thursday, September 17, 2009. Here's to a more concerted effort at balance and reinvesting in meaningful ways. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Follow me on Twitter. View my complete profile.
