The Ice Cream Boulders are sunny and stout granite boulders with several stellar lines. Rick's Rocks are out of the way pocket filled granite with mainly easy problems.

Approach: 5 minute hike up a slight hill (steep for crescent face). Ambiance: * A nice patch of old growth forest in the canyon. Parking: There is room for a couple cars and the trailhead and several more a little further down the road by the guzzler. Kids/Dogs: They can both run wild and their are several boulders for the little guys. I could see a dog that really likes to wander making it back to the road, but its a fair distance away. A Gorgeous stand alone boulder near a mountain lake with a lot of easy fun problems. Approach: 5 minutes of flat ground in the trees. Ambiance: * The area is gorgeous as is the rock, but this in not the place for solitude. It's one of the few lakes around where dogs are allowed so there are several here. Parking: Park at the parking for Horseshoe lake the closest parking is in the dirt pullout as your leaving the parking lot. The Ice Cream Boulders. One of the most sandbagged places I've climbed, but the granite is good, the area is compact, and the approach is minimal, and while you wont be doing much number chasing the problems are fun. Not the best landing, but not the worst either. It does seem like it would be easy to roll an ankle though.
