Tuesday, December 18, 2012. So, I know it's WAAAY past Thanksgiving but I thought I'd post this cute little turkey place setting buddy. I painted a little wooden peg (meant to be a baby or bee shape), sprayed it with some glossy finish, and added some raffia "feathers" on the back. I thought he was a cute little guy so I thought I'd share. These are super cheap and easy to make. The piece of wood was $0.10 each. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Tuesday, December 18, 2012. The Gift of English Toffee. Every year I have to think of something to give to my neighbors and co-workers for Christmas. I always look for something that is cheap, easy to make, doesn't take a lot of time, makes a large amount, and tastes good. This year we are making English Toffee. It meets ALL my criteria. 2 cups white sugar. 1- 1 1/2 bag milk chocolate chips. 3-4 handfuls of chopped nuts (I used pecans). Once cool, crack into pieces for serving. Made this. Loved it...

Friday, May 25, 2012. It was my daughter's 4th birthday last weekend. She wanted a flower-themed birthday party. It's a little tricky to decorate outside but at least we had a flower cake. I got a quick picture of it before it disappeared. This cake was fun and easy to make. The center is a regular 9" round cake frosted with yellow frosting and topped with Hershey kisses. Monday, October 24, 2011. Honey Pot Hill Orchards. On opening weekend in September, we took a trip to Honey Pot Hill Orchards out in Stow, MA. We started with a hedge maze that we couldn't solve. We found the entrance and Maia suggested (or rather demanded) we leave while we could. We checked out the cute animals (rabbits, pigs, goats, sheep, and chickens). Monday, February 14, 2011. Heidi was born with a heart murmer and the doctor ordered an Echocardiogram and EKG. The Echo showed that there were holes in Heidi's heart that didn't naturally close off after birth. The pediatric cardiologist is optimistic that the holes will close off on their own. Monday, January 23, 2012. Yesterday we had some friends over for dinner and celebrated Heidi's first birthday. She loved her cake.well, frosting. She did a pretty good job getting into her cake.
