It's about that time...

It's about that time. Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Almost time to go home. But before I end my wonderful time in the traveling world, I still have a few days to kill.In a few hours I will be hopping on a bus to get to Lima, which I´m sure will be my last long overnight bus ride for awhile.I still have time to wander around the streets of Arequipa. For a little bit longer. Over the weekend we went to Colca Canyon. The town of Cabanacond. E was really nice.A quaint little village made of rocks and giant ...

It's about that time...: Peru!!

http://www.jzontheroad.blogspot.com/2008/12/peru.html

It's about that time. Sunday, December 7, 2008. So we have made it to country number 11.Oh ya! It was a strange border crossing for us. The Ecuadorian immigration building was just located on the side of a busy, dusty highway and the bus just dropped us of (we were the only 2 that got off the bus to go through immigration) and pointed us at the building. We quickly got our Ecuadorian exit stamp and then were wondering how we get into Peru, and where do we get our entry stamps? We were pretty annoyed abou...

It's about that time. Friday, February 29, 2008. These snorkels better come in handy. It is this clear turqouise that you can see right down to the the bottom through. Then you see the gradients of every color ocean blue you can imagine, it's so pretty. I haven't seen water this beautiful in a long time. It was now a hardware store.Oh crap! It was finally delivered to this office, and a receptionist signed for it. At 9.30, I had my card, much to my disbelief! Wednesday, February 27, 2008. As I mentioned,...

It's about that time...: Time in Tunibamba

http://www.jzontheroad.blogspot.com/2008/11/time-in-tunibamba.html

It's about that time. Saturday, November 1, 2008. After shelling beans we relaxed a bit. I saw Marco, the 8 yr. old son playing soccer in the yard. I couldn´t resist going over to play with him-and he loved it! I really enjoyed our day there, it was nice to catch a glimpse of how the Indigenous people of Ecuador live. It was great of them to open their homes to us and share their lives with us, if even for a short time. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Http:/ www.thecooperchronicles.com.

It's about that time. Saturday, August 23, 2008. Shoesand other random thoughts. I miss my selection of shoes (I guess this can also be applied to clothes)! But it's especially hard when we are in a cool, happening city like Panama City and we go to the clubs.I want to wear a sign around my neck that says, "I have cuter clothes and shoes at home-but I couldn't fit them in my backpack! I do have to note, I think Latin American women are born wearing high heels! It was SOOOOO good :). There are a few more ...

It's about that time...: July 2008

http://www.jzontheroad.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

It's about that time. Monday, July 21, 2008. Here's my favorite little guy at the Paradise Gardens.Billy the Capuchin Monkey! He is only a few months old, and when we first arrived he had only been there a few days. He was so scared of people he did a lot of squeaking and running away from us. We really couldn't get near him. But, after almost one month, he is getting so brave! Since we have been on the move for the most part of the last 4-5 months, it is a different, enjoyable feeling to stop in somewher...

Pura Vida!: Uruguay Is Paradise: The Land Where Prehistoric Fish Help Make Beer

http://kevinandmeganinsa.blogspot.com/2009/05/prehistoric-fish-make-beer-or-something.html

Friday, May 8, 2009. Uruguay Is Paradise: The Land Where Prehistoric Fish Help Make Beer. We landed in Colonia, where a strange sensation immediately took hold of us.  As our lungs began to open up, we realized that it was the air.  It was clean.  After so much time absorbing the smog and bus exhaust in Buenos Aires we had grown unaccustomed to the normal mix of nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon dioxide. These care have exclusive restaurant seating inside). Steak cooked in milk - and. We continued to enjoy.

Pura Vida!: Yes, We Wanted To See Baby Sea Lions Get Eaten

http://kevinandmeganinsa.blogspot.com/2009/03/yes-we-wanted-to-see-baby-sea-lions-get.html

Monday, March 9, 2009. Yes, We Wanted To See Baby Sea Lions Get Eaten. Since we survived the car rental in Punta Tombo, we decided on the same plan to explore Peninsula Valdes, this time with guest drivers from Switzerland and Spain. Next we settled in by the much more active Sea Lion colony. Adults wrestle over a good spot to lay out and occasionally let loose a roar; little pups roll around, hop after seagulls, and splash in the water's edge. They're such cute creatures, but there we sat hoping.

Pura Vida!: February 2009

http://kevinandmeganinsa.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 21, 2009. Hey, wanna trek through the Patagonian Andes? After our first shower in three days, we limped over to one of El Bolson's. Our first Argentine restaurant. We felt we deserved it after our longest trek of the trip, 3 days and 48 km in the Patagonian Andes. We had left El Bolson a few days before in the early afternoon (although it's still morning in 'Argentina time' until 2 pm). After a 4 km stroll along the sparkling. A steep trip uphill brought us to. The highest point in our...

Tuesday, February 17, 2009. Bad News in a Beautiful World. Friends, it seems that our Mac laptop is sick again. We'll get it checked out in Buenos Aires, but perhaps it's on the way out. Disappointing as that is, we've hit this rough patch before and managed to survive; so we will keep on moving. March 17 update: Mac up and running again, so we now can post our photos. woohoo! You guys are awesome and living the life that I hope to live at some point when I can afford it! February 24, 2009 at 9:32 AM.

Pura Vida!: Penguins Everywhere!!!

http://kevinandmeganinsa.blogspot.com/2009/03/penguins-everywhere.html

Monday, March 9, 2009. When the penguins do decide to get up and waddle about, we were informed that they get "right-of-way" in the reserve- it's their turf. So if a group of tourists is walking along and a penguin waddles out in front it creates a hilarious little traffic jam. Despite their small size, the penguins can be territorial as well; we saw one chase a nosy Guanaco away from its nest! Best way to learn to drive stick! But found more there than we expected. Before leaving Trelew I also decided t...

Thursday, April 23, 2009. 10 Idiosyncrasies of life in Buenos Aires:. 1) Language - Castellano.  Literally meaning Spanish like in Spain, but really a completely unique dialect.  New words, conjugations, and all.  Matched with hand movements and an accent not understood by anyone outside Argentina. 2) Meat - Imagine a grill the size of a twin bed, every inch covering in sizzling steaks and sausage.  Delicious. 5) Mullets - everywhere. Why? 9) Sidewalks - Don't look up at that beautiful 18th century ...
