Monday, July 05, 2010. On Sunday morning a buddy and I lined up in the starting chute for a half marathon. The dew point was low to mid-70s, temp was about 80, and the clouds were ominous! My hands felt so sticky just standing there waiting for the thing to start. And 2) this was a brand new race / course. Compared to the chicago marathon in '07, this race gets a difficulty rating of 7.5 to 8, and chicago gets a 10 out of 10. You can't really compare the distances, but I can compare the way I felt. Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Here is our little guy. Born Sunday night on 9/12 at 6:30pm, 21", 6 pounds 11 ounces. Everyone is doing well. I added a fancy border so that might help it look spiffy i guess. we spent 4 nights in vegas on our last trip ever as a DINKs (double income no kids). i think they call it a babymoon these days. it was so great to get away from our busy lives and have no schedule at all. we had a blast. Wednesday, August 11, 2010. Half Marathon Part 2. Another huge gap since my last post! Last Saturday I toed the line at my chance for 1/2 marathon redemption. This time I finished in 1:40:41 vs. that previous 1:47 a month ago. Better course, more accurate course, and better conditions. And another month of training under my belt didn't hurt. Thursday, March 31, 2005. 1) Exercised. Didn't want to. Had some really, super great excuses as to why exercise would be a bad idea. But I did anyway. And it was a good idea. Ran 45 mins and lifted. I had to drop some weight while lifting, but that's ok. 2) Breakfast eaten, though not hungry. 4) Ate planned lunch. 5) Didn't eat before late class. Thursday, June 30, 2011. My right hamstring has just been killing me over the last several weeks. its the upper hamstring, right below the glute (i think). brutal! Tuesday, October 05, 2010. Another quick update here. For those that didn't see on twitter, I had an amazing marathon experience on Sunday. I posted a 3:36:45. I held myself in check during the first 8-10 miles when I wanted so badly to bust a gut out there and run like the wind because I felt so good. According to my chip time: first half marathon in 1:48:32 and the second half in 1:48:13. Can you believe it? But you know what? A 3:36 vs. a 3:34 is really neither here nor there for me; not a big deal.
