Cottage Industry: Tales from the Rural Laptop

Cottage Industry: Tales from the Rural Laptop. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. I haven't written down much lately, apart from lists and administrative emails. Lots of them. But the writing-in-my-head hasn't stopped, though 'The Closer We Get'. Where it all went for 4 years - is done and dusted and out in the world now. And that feels very strange, and rather sad. Where should all those thoughts on grief and bereavement, joy and wonder, go now? Who's done its business in the border, and she'd certainly have those...

Cottage Industry: Tales from the Rural Laptop: April 2008

http://www.karenguthrie.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

Cottage Industry: Tales from the Rural Laptop. Friday, April 18, 2008. Hugging a tub of flour. A few weeks ago, to my great shock, my mother suffered from what seems to have been a stroke. After last week's visit to her in hospital, where she lies immobilised down one side, I returned to her empty house alone. On a whim, I decided to fill the vacuum by baking my sister - who I was seeing the next day - a birthday cake from us both. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hugging a tub of flour.

Cottage Industry: Tales from the Rural Laptop. Monday, August 06, 2007. Some 4 years since we snapped up what seemed to be the only affordable rural property in the Lake District National Park, we have finally obtained planning permission for what has become known as the "Love Shack" - to replace the mouldy-log-cabin-the-size-of-a-static-caravan, with possibly the LDNP's first bit of domestic contemporary architecture. Cottage Industry: Tales from the Rural Laptop: Advanced Retreating

http://www.karenguthrie.blogspot.com/2011/11/advanced-retreating.html

Cottage Industry: Tales from the Rural Laptop. Saturday, November 26, 2011. This weekend I've submitted myself to a Meditation Retreat. At a local Buddhist Centre. Part of the tedious journey of personal development afflicting all middle youth like me. A resident lay Buddhist gives us a tour but it seems an idiotic question to ask. Our main teaching monk resembles Lenny Henry. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I'm an artist and film-maker. View my complete profile. My little brother's blog.

Cottage Industry: Tales from the Rural Laptop: “I'm supposed to be indestructible”

http://www.karenguthrie.blogspot.com/2010/05/im-supposed-to-be-indestructible.html

Cottage Industry: Tales from the Rural Laptop. Tuesday, May 18, 2010. 8220;I'm supposed to be indestructible”. As I sorted and re-catagorized the last of the neatly packed and labelled objects I found a frail narrative of her feelings on making the move to this house, after seperating from dad and living alone for the first time in her life: a personal alarm, a front-door spyhole and a number of large locks – all still boxed, unused. Tales from the Pie 'n' Mash. Saturday, February 18, 2006. Seems ceramics are a theme in the 'Somewhere Blogs'. At present . a few weeks ago I visited the Branksome China Factory/Shop/Total experience in the New Forest at Fordingbridge. Tales from the Pie 'n' Mash. Monday, May 01, 2006. Baltic Beach Hotel (& us! Originally uploaded by Nina Pope. Photos and chat from our Easter 'romantic mini-break' . I bloody loved Latvia: beautiful beach, sleepy seaside resort of wooden summerhouses. And soviet blockbuster hotels, lots of smoked fish, mad museums (see below), sunny weather and an abandoned spa town . what more romance could a girl want? Posted by Nina at 3:10 PM. Tales from the Pie 'n' Mash. Sunday, November 13, 2005. Ladies who Lido . Anyone who knows me will confirm that I am very keen on swimming, and especially out door swimming. To date I have almost managed to keep this in the 'hobby' area of my life . although I was, for a while, a member of the 'artists swim club' that met once a week at York Road under the careful guidance of Kat our artist/tutor located via artist Ella Gibbs 'Spare Time Job Club'. More regular territory (although her own amazing patch. Doesn't seem to feature in her blog too often) but I've visited two really interesting ones recently so thought I'd post some images here but more on Flickr . she'll be interested even if it's a bit 'off track' for other readers here! Tuesday, May 31, 2005. El primero en hacerlo fue Piero Ginori Contien Larderello, Italia, en 1904. Un siglo después, sigue produciendo indefinidamente calor y electricidad. El uso directo del calor, fue lo que más rápidamente se extendió.
