A Dancer's Observations and Musings
Decisively Indecisive: April 2014
http://karenschuang.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
A Dancer's Observations and Musings. Tuesday, April 29, 2014. When we were in college, my friends and I had nearly identical schedules. We did almost everything together from taking donation based yoga classes at PowerYoga in Santa Monica to studying for midterms at Coral Tree Cafe. Our lives were perfectly in sync, and I saw them just about every single day. From our Theta days. But then we graduated, and real life happened. My clip-on friends: Sydney, Kally, Brian, and Bill (Elizabeth). That unfortunat...

A Dancer's Observations and Musings. Saturday, August 16, 2014. My travels so far this year have been restricted to North America, but about a week ago I finally ventured across the Pacific Ocean. My first stop: Tokyo, Japan. It started off with an 11-hour flight, which was actually quite comfortable considering I had an entire row on the plane to myself:. Little street in Golden Gai. We first stopped into Albatross. Yes, I went non-vegetarian while in Japan. Can you blame me? After some affordable and f...

A Dancer's Observations and Musings. Thursday, January 23, 2014. Half Marathon Training: Race Recap. January 19th, 2014: A day I anticipated for months, and a day for which I physically trained for 10 weeks. It was the day of my half marathon. Miles 1 through 3 were stress free and quick. My adrenaline was still sky high, and I recall cracking jokes with my friends while we dodged around the slower runners. The course scaled the San Diego coastline, and because I ran without music I could hear the waves ...

A Dancer's Observations and Musings. Friday, May 30, 2014. In Retrospect : Taking the Leap. It was what I felt after four years of learning about business and economics at UCLA. While the Business/Economics department has a culture of grooming its students to become the next army of corporate America's finest, I wasn't persuaded to dedicate my life to accounting, investment banking, or consulting. Rather, my experiences. Vocal Adrenaline" members on set for "Glee" March 2012. It was what I felt when I di...

Dancer. Teacher. Choreographer. Visit Karen's full blog:. Mood Mondays - Episode 16: "Holocene" by Bon Iver. February 16, 2016. As I sat down to write this blog entry, I couldn't remember what had happened back in September 2015 that inspired the mood for Episode 16. Luckily I have a pretty detailed Google Calendar that tracks all the events in my life, from major dance projects to yoga classes. I found that around the time this video was made and published was also the audition for Grease: Live. Mood Mo...

Karen's Chronicles
Random posts about my quilting, gardening and other interests. Monday, July 26, 2010. July 26, 2010 - Five Finishes. My 32 year old orange pot holders have met their end. I decided to knit up some blue cotton ones to take their place. My sister got me started on coffee cup cozies. I'm not fond of knitting on double pointed needles so I revised the pattern to knit on straight needles. This was Coffee Cozy 4.0. I wouldn't stop till it was perfect. Perfection, a blessing, and a curse. Thanks for stopping by!

I dwell in possibility. I dwell in Possibility. A fairer House than Prose. More numerous of Windows. Of Chambers as the Cedars. And for an Everlasting Roof. The Gambrels of the Sky. Of Visitors the fairest. The spreading wide my narrow Hands. To gather Paradise . Mdash; Emily Dickinson. I like dwelling in possibility so much I think I'm going to do my best to never leave. That's my birthday present to myself - possibility. And tagged with writing. July 13, 2015. July 13, 2015. I don't know what he said,...

A Dancer's Observations and Musings. Saturday, February 24, 2018. A Year in Reflection: 2017. At the start of this lunar new year I felt it would be appropriate to revisit my blog to look back on past adventures. And of course I noticed that I've neglected my blog for quite some time (a whole year to be exact). Now two months in to 2018 and a week in to the Year of the Dog, I'd like to reflect on the year prior and highlight some standout memories:. The whole cast with choreographer, Richard Jackson.
In This Light
Saturday, November 5, 2016. Coffee with June Cleaver. Last night I dreamed I was talking with June Cleaver about American civility. I was telling her I had just finished re-reading The Garden of the World. By Lawrence Coates, the next selection of Lit Youngstown’s food-themed book club. I didn’t stay in the dream long enough to hear June Cleaver’s response. I was too young to watch this white, 1950s t.v. mom in her show Leave it to Beaver. With my own kids, I felt something missing, the role models that ...
