Life in the Vast Lane: our little football fan
http://skaffs.blogspot.com/2011/10/our-little-football-fan.html
Wednesday, October 5, 2011. Our little football fan. Ella got her first taste of live football last weekend! It was an absolutely beautiful day, just a little windy. My company sponsors NDSU athletics, and we tailgate at all the home football games. Saturday was homecoming, and we couldn't find anyone to watch Ella - so we just brought her with! She lasted until about half way through the third quarter and then she was ready to go home; we'd barely left the parking lot and she was asleep.

calm down: Kindergarten for Emily!
http://alwaysmary.blogspot.com/2013/08/kindergarten-for-emily.html
Even though she's gone to preschool the last three years, it still feels like a big deal to send Emily off on the bus for her first day of Kindergarten! She's been very nervous about the bus, actually. Someone said something about "catching the bus" a while back, and ever since, she's been uncertain about how to "catch it." I've tried to explain that it will stop for her, but even last night, she was still very anxious about how it all works. Caleb is NOT excited about sending her off to school.

calm down: Halloweeen 2010
http://alwaysmary.blogspot.com/2010/11/halloweeen-2010.html
This was a much happier Halloween than last year to be sure. Emily was finally. Feeling healthy again (for the most part) and was actually quite excited to dress up as a zookeeper. She originally wanted to be a flower, a dog, or Curious George, but none of those costumes were available in her size. This zookeeper costume came with a little monkey for her to wear, and we found a monkey costume for Bix too. Bix's monkey hood didn't stay on very well; this is the only picture we could get with it on. Box in...

Life in the Vast Lane: May 2010
http://skaffs.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 19, 2010. I can't hardly believe it, but my niece Krispen turned two on May 12th! We all went down to Excelsior this past weekend and had a little birthday party for her. She definitely got the idea that the party was for her - and that the presents were all for her! She just went from one bag to the next, pulling each item out, looking at it, and moving on to the next! It was stinking hilarious! Here's a few photos:. Thursday, May 13, 2010. We didn't luck out with a beautiful sunny 70 deg...

Life in the Vast Lane: socks
http://skaffs.blogspot.com/2011/08/socks.html
Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Yesterday was a little rainy and a little cool, and Ella has been fighting a cough. So good mother that I am, I decided she needed to wear socks. Ella hasn't worn socks since May - meaning half her life has now gone by without them. So when I put them on her last night to go out for pizza with Nate's grandma, they were a completely new thing to her! They were like a brand new toy. September 26, 2011 at 4:29 PM. Life in the Vast Lane: January 2010
http://skaffs.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 28, 2010. Lately I have been more interested in reading other people's blogs than writing my own blog. I sometimes get so caught up in admiring others creativity that its hard for me to be creative myself. As I mentioned, my little brother was recently home on leave from Iraq. I was talking to him last week (when he surprised me with a phone call on my birthday! Years ago. He's anxious to get home and get back to his life. And yet, his life has not. I find this to be a good reminder for...

calm down: Scottish Fest
http://alwaysmary.blogspot.com/2013/09/scottish-fest.html
Granny and Papa came to town for the big Scottish Fest in Estes Park, and we joined them up there for the fun on Friday and Saturday. We didn't get too many pictures, but here are the few we have:. Definitely no shortage of bagpipes! Caleb is always quick to make new friends. Excited for the parade to begin. Emily is our playground girl! When the kids are a little older, it would be fun to go back and stay for more than just the parade! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Bowl Full of Lemons.

calm down: First Halloween
http://alwaysmary.blogspot.com/2008/10/first-halloween.html
Much cuter photos to post tonight! See, Emily was a little cow for Halloween this year. We were both pretty sure that the head-piece wouldn't stay on for long, but much to our surprise, she never really noticed it was there and walked around happily all night with the whole costume on. Bix wasn't really involved in the festivities this year, but we did get this quick picture of the two of them. Am I'milking' this one for all it's worth? Seriously, I'm done now. VERY cute pics. :). Life in the Vast Lane: not my favorite store
http://skaffs.blogspot.com/2011/04/not-my-favorite-store.html
Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Not my favorite store. To say that Walmart is not my favorite store is, well, an understatement. This is not a political statement, it’s just true. I try so hard to have a patient open mind, but I’m usually frustrated before I even find a parking spot. There are just so, so many people. And they all have their own pace, which usually doesn’t make much sense to me. Ella didn’t really agree with my choice to stand in line. So there we stood in line, rocking the cart back ...He quic...
