The weather was beautiful on Christmas Day and Boxing Day so here we were, hoping for good weather on the 28th December so we could complete another Wellington regional walk. All the more training for the big trip up Mount Ruapehu! This walk, we decided to do in the early morning while the temperature was a bit cooler and this meant it was a morning tea, not a gourmet’s lunch to carry up the hills. At the top of the ridge the views are fantastic!

Just another life in the day of a Real Estate Salesperson. Plenty of spots by the river if bringing your lunch. We set ourselves a goal, no lunch until we were at the Korokoro Dam! The first dam we walked past was set up to supply water to the Petone Woollen Mills and it is not far up the track from the carpark.
