Art Journal—A Creative Journey. Discoveries and Musings On The Creative Path. Tutorial - Soda Soaking. Tutorial - Making Paper Cloth - Updated. Not Much News, But a Little. I haven’t posted for quite a while. My father-in-law reminded me this past weekend at our family reunion. He said he checks in from time to time to see what I’m up to! Well, I work a lot now and get very little done creatively. Isn’t it the cutest? Can’t wait to wear one, but it’s too hot here right now. I think I’m going to lov...

Art Journal—A Creative Journey. Discoveries and Musings On The Creative Path. Tutorial - Soda Soaking. Tutorial - Making Paper Cloth - Updated. Tutorial – Making Paper Cloth – Updated. Having just shown some pictures on my blog of items I recently made with paper cloth, I thought perhaps I would do a tutorial the next time I made some. I happened to have some very interesting printed tissue papers that I worked with in this project. Continue to brush the glue solution over the papers each time you add ne...

fiberhart: Third Time's the Charm- Spoon Swirl with the Soap Club Challenge

http://fiberhart.blogspot.com/2014/12/third-times-charm-spoon-swirl-with-soap.html

Thursday, December 11, 2014. Third Time's the Charm- Spoon Swirl with the Soap Club Challenge. Artic Waters, by Beverly Hart. I made a third batch of soap Sunday morning, hoping to finally get it all right and end up with a bar of soap I'd be happy to enter in the challenge. I got everything together- checking twice to make sure I didn't forget ANYTHING. My son was kind enough to take pictures of the process, after I'd made the batter. And, since this was a spoon swirl challenge, I decided to texture the...

fiberhart: January 2015

http://fiberhart.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Soap Challenge: Butterfly Swirl. I knew from the outset I would not make more than one attempt to get this one. I've not done a lot of hanger swirls, although I like the look. Zahida of Handmade in Florida. Has done some amazing soaps using the hanger. I also wanted to try something different for me- using a color for a background rather than white. I decided to go with a gold background, and white, black, and deep red for the swirls. So far, the colors look good, just what I...

fiberhart: July 2015

http://fiberhart.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 17, 2015. To any of my fiber friends who still cruise by here wondering what has happened to me- yes, this is another soaping post. However- don't despair- I have actually been doing a fair amount of fiber work the past month or so- I just haven't gotten around to posting it. And, it will not be too long before all the soaping stuff will be migrated to another site. Bear with me! So, I got my mold ready with my home-made cardboard divider. . . Then I poured this into the violet and yellow so...

fiberhart: August 2014

http://fiberhart.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Friday, August 22, 2014. Color is my Therapy. I have been playing in the dyes again, and even tried something new. I should have plenty of fabric to create with this winter, and I'm hoping for a few more dye days before the snow flies. Who sent us each a piece of hand dyed fabric to use in the latest Tangled Textiles challenge, I spent a day doing flat gradation dyeing. Some turned out better than others, but I'll use every one. I also threw some soda soaked fabric in the drip bins, and got some beauties.

fiberhart: When I'm Sixty-Four. . . .

http://fiberhart.blogspot.com/2015/01/when-im-sixty-four.html

Monday, January 19, 2015. When I'm Sixty-Four. . . . Wow, five since my last post. I'd say it's a good indicator of where my head has been in the last few weeks- certainly not in a blogging mode. We had a lovely Christmas, both my brother and Shannon were here. I celebrated a milestone three weeks after Christmas- referenced in the title! I'm not very good at that; when I get interested in something I tend to immerse myself and go at it full bore. What conclusions have I reached? I'd already taken one st...

fiberhart: A Soapy Challenge

http://fiberhart.blogspot.com/2014/12/a-soapy-challenge.html

Sunday, December 07, 2014. I'd noted some time ago that there seem to be a lot of similarities between quilters and soapers. One of their commonalities is a liking for challenges. They seem to be a means to learn and stretch creative muscles in both camps. I finally decided to take the plunge and join Amy Warden's challenge this month. (A note to my fiber art friends- if soap making bores you silly, better skip this one! My fragrance and additive- I really wanted white soap, so I used some kaolin clay.

fiberhart: May 2015

http://fiberhart.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 14, 2015. I have salted caramel cake pops, cherry trifle, tiramisu brownie bites, and lemon filled Pavlovas, garnished with a mint leaf. Yum! However, I won't be taking a bite out of any of these- they are all soap! I made them for the latest soap challenge, and it was quite the learning curve. It was also lots of fun. Unfortunately, I don't have many pictures of the process, because I had to move fast. Here's what I do have. I also played with the soap fondant described in Cee's video....

fiberhart: September 2014

http://fiberhart.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 19, 2014. Well, it took a little over a year to finish this, but it is officially DONE. I even threw it in the washer and dryer today- first time ever I've made a quilt with the intention of 'crinkling' it. I do like the way it makes the quilting stand out. It will get boxed up to give to Michelle for her fifth birthday this week. She is growing up fast! My brother gifted me with some sheets- I think I will tie dye a set for her bed to go with this. In pink, of course. I've had a needle...

Fiber Art — Let's Get Real. Life Imitating Art Imitating LIfe. Mind the Gap →. July 26, 2011. So you could have knocked me over with a knitting needle when after so many years of noodling my way along as a fiber artist, I found myself suddenly taking a sharp right turn into a brand new medium wire! Because I’m using a fine gauge wire, the pieces are not meant to stand up without support; so I have mounted them on stretched canvas. This is the first piece called Waiting for the 3:15. The third work is a p...

fiberhart: April 2015

http://fiberhart.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Soap Challenge: Spinning Swirls (or, A Tale of Two Soaps). First- yes, I have been absent from the blog for some time. That is a story for another post, however. I wasn't able to participate in the last two soap challenges- too much other activity on the home front. I was able to get to this one, however- in fact, I made two batches! I needed my slow tracing recipe- I was going for three colors plus white. Spun once. . . I had time, so I wanted to test a theory- would using squ...

A theoretical framework that is integrative (in that I draw from various theories); it is also broadly psychodynamic (insight-oriented), and also borrows much from existential theory. I also use behavioral techniques where needed. An approach that is engaged, genuine, and reflective. Techniques that are fairly mainstream. I also try to be creative in concert with my clients. The goniometer can help us to know range of motion of some joint and with this information we can decide which treatment we can do or how we can do it. We can infer if there is any pathology with the result if they are out of the normal parameters. Viernes, 13 de noviembre de 2009. You are going to do a very good massage! A Physical ...
