thankfulness & thoughtfulness: on being sheep
http://thankfullythinking.blogspot.com/2010/06/on-being-sheep.html
Sunday, June 13, 2010. We have been home for almost a month now from our journey and I can't help but be amazed at the recall of information that takes place daily in my mind and in my heart of the things we learned. I truly believe that it is because we walked and learned with our feet that we are remembering. This morning I was so blessed by Pastor Tom's message on being sheep. (it will be posted here. thankfulness & thoughtfulness: ezer kenegdo: existing in the tension
http://thankfullythinking.blogspot.com/2010/06/ezer-kinegdo-existing-in-tension.html
Friday, June 4, 2010. Ezer kenegdo: existing in the tension. I always knew I wanted to marry Ryan when he challenged me. I still remember reading the engagement card Bethany. Gave me and how she noted the way we challenged one another. It always made me feel loved to know that someone cared enough to tell me the truth and Allison told me that is how she knew Ryan was the one for me. Our marriage will always have this hard pull in it. We are so different from one another in almost every possible way b...

thankfulness & thoughtfulness: a quiet week
http://thankfullythinking.blogspot.com/2011/05/quiet-week.html
Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Well, here I am, day two of my "retirement" as Ryan is calling this little window of time between working and baby. So far so good but I can see why people start to get anxious towards the end. The house is clean, the diapers are lined up and books are being read for FUN at this point! I did the annual necessary Tulip Time visit yesterday with friends and their kiddos and we had a great time debating which stand to get food from. I can tell you that "fatballs" were not in the r...

thankfulness & thoughtfulness: a whole new world
http://thankfullythinking.blogspot.com/2011/05/whole-new-world.html
Sunday, May 29, 2011. A whole new world. I can't believe that 9 days have already passed and a week ago we were bringing our sweet baby girl home from the hospital. I haven't blogged, although there have been many hours between 3-5 am that I could have but it seems almost too large to capture all of the emotions, changes, joys and blessings that have taken place in less than 10 days. May 29, 2011 at 8:01 PM. I loved hearing about your birth story and Hannahs birthday! Celebrate that little bundle :).

And how they could ever be united. This is Tabgha where 7 springs come together making it good for fishing and where our journey began. August 11, 2010 at 3:35 AM. thankfulness & thoughtfulness: according to the countdown...
http://thankfullythinking.blogspot.com/2011/05/according-to-countdown.html
Sunday, May 15, 2011. According to the countdown. We have one day left. According to how I feel, I wonder if it may be more than that. However, I have never done this before so I don't know what it feels like the day before or a few days before one has a baby. And I did buy some adorable girlie newborn stuff the other day because if it is a she, I want my girl to come home all decked out! What is one to do the day before her due date or the week of you might ask? May 15, 2011 at 3:32 PM. Thinking and pra...

thankfulness & thoughtfulness: God Loves the Desert: Days 3 & 4
http://thankfullythinking.blogspot.com/2010/05/god-loves-desert-days-3-4.html
Monday, May 24, 2010. God Loves the Desert: Days 3 and 4. Hosea 9:10 "When I found Israel, it was like finding grapes in the desert". One of the most important lessons I learned in the desert is that you can't go alone. The essence of community and caring for one another, whether we are in a personal desert or willing to walk with someone is essential for staying alive. Here is a pic of all of the girls' in our group:. Because they had no value. My feet are standing on a pile of slag and I wanted a p...

thankfulness & thoughtfulness: a fortress and an oasis: Masada & Engedi: days 5 & 6
http://thankfullythinking.blogspot.com/2010/05/fortress-and-oasis-masada-engedi-days-5.html
Thursday, May 27, 2010. A fortress and an oasis: Masada and Engedi: days 5 and 6. The more we walk with people and have relationships, the messier I realize life is with pain and joy flowing together and walking hand-in-hand. It seems that you can't have one without the other and I think the 2 places I want to write about today capture the battle and the beauty. Ryan and I at the entryway into one part of Masada:. After only 3 days, ok 3 hours in the desert, you begin to get a picture of what the Israeli...

thankfulness & thoughtfulness: hospitality & hope: blessed to be a blessing
http://thankfullythinking.blogspot.com/2010/06/hospitality-hope-blessed-to-be-blessing.html
Thursday, June 3, 2010. Hospitality and hope: blessed to be a blessing. One of the things that has really been convicting and challenging me since being back in my home for a few weeks now is the experience we had visiting a Bedouin village. It was on this day (#4), that I started to sense the value of halaking. As a community in a physical and tangible sense. Throughout footsteps and dust, we became the 12 on those paths and shared real and valuable perspectives that blessed me. God loves the desert.
