Modern Quilting and Crafting. New Year. New Quilt. New Goal. And a NEW BLOG…. Sometimes projects just take longer then you expect. I participated in an online bee in 2013…received the blocks on time…quilted the blocks using free motion quilting and did each color of block with a different free motion technique to get some practice…Had tons of fun pebble stitching and meandering my way thru the blocks…. I have a goal for 2016. Starting with this new Blog I want to find time to Sew and Blog everyday...

Hop on over and stay awhile. Hello to all of you hopping along from the Let's Get Acquainted blog hop. I am so happy to introduce you to myself and my blog! An interior designer turned homemaker and quilter. I started on my quilting journey. Just a bit over a year ago. I got my machine (a basic Husqvarna Viking Emerald 118) and began piecing a quilt for my guest room. I also love scrappy projects. I really enjoy taking the leftovers from old projects and making them into something unexpected. A sneaky li...

grateful 4 quilting: Christmas in July again!
http://grateful4quilting.blogspot.com/2015/07/christmas-in-july-again.html
Saturday, July 4, 2015. Christmas in July again! Yes, I had some free fat quarters from a box and decided to make them up for a donation ready to give away when the Holidays come around. The prints on some of the fabrics were a bit large so this was an easy choice to show that off. It is already quilted up and almost done with the binding. Yay! This was the one from last week. Quilted, binding on. Done! July 5, 2015 at 6:54 AM. Visiting from Crazy Mom Quilts. July 5, 2015 at 10:14 AM. I just love to sew!

Quilt for baby | Sarah Quilts

Making pretty things and talking about it. Barn door quilt along. November 7, 2014. A few weeks ago I made some little stuffed toys for the baby’s room… and then somehow a quilt sprung out of the same fabrics. Spontaneous combustion? It was more of a challenge than I initially expected! But it was definitely challenging and a little backbreaking. I quickly decided to reduce the overall size of the quilt and add a border! That cut the number of blocks I needed from 20 to 9. Here it is before quilting.

http://grateful4quilting.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 23, 2015. I have been gone way too long but not from sewing, just from the computer. I have also been in Ohio for about 10 days helping out with my Mom. I did some sewing up there too. My posts will have to be several in a row since I have too much for one post. I will start with my favorite thing of all. I have also been waiting for my daughter to get her new phone which takes really nice pictures so I hope they are easier to see. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I just love to sew! I am marrie...

grateful 4 quilting: Summer!!
http://grateful4quilting.blogspot.com/2015/06/summer.html
Thursday, June 25, 2015. I feel like I have been away for forever! I have done lots of sewing and given several things away and have no pictures. A few things I did remember and the last couple weeks have gotten some things done. But first, the bumper pads to match the new babys quilt are finally finished. All the animals were appliqued on and the grass and flowers were stitched on. It was a lot of work but turned out so very nice. It came from Kelly at My quilt infatuation. I will quilt it up right away.

Sewing a First Communion Dress

Modern Quilting and Paper Piecing. Sewing a First Communion Dress. April 27, 2014. My daughter received her First Communion today. Long before I had children, I dreamed of making them dresses for their First Communions. My oldest child is a boy so this was my first chance! Mind you, I did have fun dressing him in a suit too but it wasn’t something I had dreamed about! My daughter knows what she likes and what she doesn’t so I didn’t have complete design control! April 27, 2014 at 5:38 pm. Satin is so tri...
