Keeping up with the Hills: Help me with my kids please....

Keeping up with the Hills. Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere." Psalm 84:10. Monday, February 16, 2015. Help me with my kids please. As I finished the last chapter in Genesis, I closed my Bible and had a moment of silence with Jesus. Tears flooded my eyes because I was not ready for this book to end. I had grown close to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. The words on the pages of my bible came alive in my spirit and my heart. Lord, I want to be like them! Our spiritual ancestors ...

Keeping up with the Hills. Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere." Psalm 84:10. Monday, February 16, 2015. Back in December my babies participated in a guitar concert at our local coffee shop, Perk Avenue. Presley sang "We are never getting back together" by Taylor Swift. Joseph played his guitar to "Silent Night.". Needless to say, we were PROUD! Here are a few pictures of them and their supporters! Maw Maw and Paw Paw. Kim and Aunt Angie. William, Aunt Jess, Uncle Rob, and Mama Jane.
Keeping up with the Hills: August 2014

Keeping up with the Hills. Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere." Psalm 84:10. Sunday, August 31, 2014. When bad things happen around me, I tend to go in lock down mode. When I hear the horrible news of children getting cancer, or young mothers and fathers coming down with deadly diseases, I panic. I tend to think that surely there is something I can do to protect my loved ones. Surely if we consume more organic fruits, veggies, and vitamins, we will be spared. He did. Big time.

Keeping up with the Hills. Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere." Psalm 84:10. Saturday, April 26, 2014. We love the beach. As we celebrate the {almost} end of another school year, we are soaking up every ounce of our Spring Break. I will spare you more descriptive words, and just post the pictures. They tend to speak for themselves. 2) Ice cream at ZuZu's- a beach tradition. 3) Presley loves this whale- we took this on our morning walk to the pier. 8) Fun friends at the beach!

Keeping up with the Hills. Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere." Psalm 84:10. Thursday, September 18, 2014. Because I need them. I have had some things going on with some very close loved ones. It's been hard. Today, I sat down and wrote down some scriptures for a friend going through something. As I was typing them, I realized God wanted me to know them too. He wants me to rest in them. Really, rest in them. He wants me to not just know them, but believe them. You will not have to...

Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Our Top, Best, and Most Memorable 10 in 2013. Because I love good summaries, closure, and wrapping things up in neat, little bows, I thought I'd present our family's highlight reel for the year 2013:. 1 Mini-Vacations and Family Getaways. Invited by friends, we spent MLK, Jr. weekend in a gorgeous cabin in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Rode four-wheelers, ice skated and enjoyed hanging out in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains. Thanks to my aunt and uncle's extreme generosity in let...

Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Principles of (Happy) Moms Who Home Educate. I stumbled upon this list. I was reading a few days ago and instantly fell in love. Because when you've reached the halfway point in your school year and when you've been all bundled up trying to stay warm and disliking January (VERY MUCH) and you find this list which picks you up and simultaneously kicks your butt into remembering the most important things about why you do what you do, then yes, you share it. Anxiety and worry are...

Thursday, March 5, 2015. Falling Through My Kitchen Ceiling and an Adoption Update (because they totally go together.). If we're friends on Facebook, then you may have seen this picture and post three weeks ago:. See this disastrous hole in my kitchen ceiling? Now just imagine my entire left leg dangling from it. Because about an hour ago, it was! I bruised my knee and right wrist has been throbbing (& of course my pride is wounded), but other than that, I'm good. Praise God! The last time we were at the.

The Lancaster's Latest: Zoo Field Trip
http://thelancasterslatest.blogspot.com/2015/05/zoo-field-trip.html
The daily ins and outs of a family that tries to live and love the way Jesus would have us to. Saturday, May 2, 2015. Until this year, I've never been able to go on field trips with my kids. They've always asked, and I've always had to say no. Joey has gone on a few, but I've missed out. Until now. In the last week, I've been able to go with Makinley to the zoo and with Tripp on his 3rd grade field trip. Makinley's had the same best friend since Pre-K. They love each other! I mean.isn't it obvious?

The Balicki's Balancing Act. All about our attempt at balance while trying to let our little light shine. Monday, August 5, 2013. The Balicki girls went back to school today. It was bittersweet for us - we have really enjoyed our summer together as the quality time was abundant and even seemed endless for a time. Long hours spent at the pool and playing with their friends and cousins. We loved every moment of it. :). Audrey and Sloane - first day of school. And Audrey's last year at Barksdale - 5th grade).

Keepin' Up With the Hawkins Gang!
Keepin' Up With the Hawkins Gang! Tuesday, March 18, 2014. So I have this weird ability. I can remember random things from years ago and to this day every time the day or time appears I always think back to that memory. I can also remember all of my phone numbers from my childhood. Call me weird but I think it's easier to remember my old numbers because I didn't have a cell phone to hold the number for me. Back then couldn't ask Siri to "call mom" hahaha. Best day of my life. I like the number 5! Just wa...

Keeping up with the Hills. Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere." Psalm 84:10. Sunday, August 6, 2017. How can it be. This past weekend, Joseph turned 16. Honestly, I never thought this day could come. The early years were slow as molasses. The good kind of slow. The kind of slow that makes you think it will always be like this and it is just a wonderful little life. Then, they grow older and taller and bigger.
