Back packing round Cambodia. Thursday, 3 November 2011. At silk island we visited a family who showed us how they bred the moths and when the cocoon`s were ready how they peeled of the furry outer layer to make the thread and how using natural colours from plant`s they then had a usable thread to put on the looms. Some of the patterns were very intrecate and a 400mil x 2metre length would take 8 days 12 hours a day to produce, and all it cost to buy from them would be twenty dollars, a pittance.

Back packing round Cambodia. Saturday, 29 October 2011. Today we arrived in Ho Chi Min city after a 6 hour journey by bus, we left our hotel at 8,45 am the bus left Chia Doc at 9.00 , there was a stop after 4 hours at a bus station where we had a roll with pork and vegetables. when we came back the bus had gone. don`t panic captian mainwaring, well only a little bit. Back packing round Cambodia. Saturday, 5 November 2011. Friday night roy, carl, tony from australia and i decided to go to a smart restuarant on the river side as tony was off home and carl and i were parting company with roy in the morning. He was staying Pnom Penh for a couple more days before going back to sihanoukville. We have found a nice hotel with a swimming pool 5 minuites from the centre of town, after booking a room had a shower and then went for a swim. Today we ate off to visit Angkor Wat.

Back packing round Cambodia. Sunday, 6 November 2011. Yesterday, sunday Carl and i went by tuk-tuk to visit the temple site of Anghor Wat . we spent aboute 5 hours visiting three of the temples which are absalutly stunning ,the ruins cover a vast area and at every turn on the journey there were more to see, some with huge great trees growing from them.
