a mist of a life: February 2012

A mist of a life. My journal as i journey through this vapor. As life goes on and on and on, there are moments that slip by too quickly and become but a mere flashback of what was. Though that statement alone is very pessimistic, this post is not. :). And I said nothing but when she reads this she'll know what on earth I was doing. One might think, "Really? The Mississippi Capitol building is worthy of a mental picture, Kristina? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

A mist of a life. My journal as i journey through this vapor. Less than a day away from beginning my journey back to Europe. I've been waiting to go back and continue His work in this great country that desperately needs Love. It's going to be a bit different this year. Different city, different Friends, different opportunities, different experiences. All of which I am excited for! Here the times of the flights all in CENTRAL time: Leave Memphis 10:30am (super long layover! Please think of them often!

A mist of a life. My journal as i journey through this vapor. In a sea of 16,000 folks. But here are some of the highlights of my five days at Urbana:. I had to place my own housing, which meant I was to find random strangers to live with for the duration of the conference. I was slightly skeptical that there was even a hotel room reserved for me and was nervous about living with four strangers. But it turned out beautifully! My four random roommates evolved into four friends and sisters. Holy, Holy, Holy.

A mist of a life. My journal as i journey through this vapor. Here, there, anywhere. So it is a constant struggle of wanting to be anywhere but school. I understand the gist of college, but some days I much rather be in back in Europe or travel to some far distant land and commence serving in whatever manner. And some days those wants are harder than other days. No, I haven't and with that perspective, it makes much more sense to a person wanting to anywhere but here. Moreover, Christ himself didn't ...

A mist of a life. My journal as i journey through this vapor. Guys, it's the last day of February! I am particularly thrilled because I can never spell this month correctly; I usually put "Feb" to suffice. March is one of my favorite months. I am partially biased; it's the month of my birthday, several family members' birthdays, and the much anticipated Spring Break. Classes are a little harder than I imagined- well actually just one class is harder than I ever imagined: ceramics! Will you join my teamma...

A mist of a life. My journal as i journey through this vapor. One City, Two Continents. This lesson was not easily forgotten- throughout the day I was reminded to walk in the Spirit as the Call of Paryer went off. This was my first time to hear it in person- -and boy nothing can prepare you for the first time you hear it. The deafening eeriness of the chanting and the people's dedication to its purpose was sombering but allowed me to see, even more, their need for Thee. Leila (L) and Sheyda (R).

A mist of a life. My journal as i journey through this vapor. Title is Serbian for "Farewell." Bags are packed and weighed ready to go out the door at "the crack of smack"as Randi would call it! When that might be is at 04:30 when I head to the airport to make several flights back to the mighty Mississippi. I'll get to that more in a bit. Have you ever been to a zoo in the States were the only thing stopping tigers or lions from mauling your face off is an electric fence? Just a WWII bunker! This is quit...

A mist of a life. My journal as i journey through this vapor. Hi]atus, no more. See what I did there? Yes, it has been almost a year to the day that I have last communicated with cyberspace. If it is any consolation, I began a draft of a blog post in February. The intention was there; the timely execution- not so much. That post will come shortly.but surely you've realized, in my absence, that you shouldn't exactly hold your breath. WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME ABOUT THESE THINGS? 4- Finding a new community of...

A mist of a life. My journal as i journey through this vapor. Fourscore and seven years ago minus fourscore. If you did the math correctly in the title, then you would come out with seven years. I mainly like the sound of that famous phrase coined by Ab Lincoln. Nonetheless, seven years ago was not only when Katrina butchered the Mississippi Gulf Coast and ripped homes from foundations, it was also the last days of my Maw-maw. Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,. Never Once" by Matt Redman.
