Where are we in Bristol? Our Dojo is in Bridge Farm Primary School, Meadow Building, East Dundy Lane,. Please press the buzzer to be allowed entry. We welcome all new beginners from the age of 10yrs and offer the first lesson Free of charge as an introduction to the art. Children under 10yrs will be considered after a trial session but must be related to an existing member or have a Martial art experience. We will discuss entry on an individual basis. Both Club instructors are CRB Registered. Martin Sensei has more than 36yrs experience in martial arts. The majority of this is in Shotokan Karate where he has attained the rank of 4th dan. Over the last few years, he has been studying various Japanese sword arts including Shinkendo, Kenbudo and finally attaining instructor level in Zenshin do Kenjutsu. Grading structure - Kyoku Kenjutsu-Kai

Grading Syllabus and Belt system. The minimum training duration between Kyu grades is 5-6 months, this is because there are only 5 Kyu grade before 1st Dan, and due to the high standard required to achieve each grade. 5th Kyu - Yellow Belt. 4th Kyu – Orange Belt. 3rd Kyu – Green Belt. 2nd Kyu – Blue Belt. 1st Kyu – Brown Belt. 1st Dan – Black Belt. The minimum training duration between 1st Kyu and 1st Dan is 6-8 months. Kyu Grade Syllabus will consist of;. Zenshindo Kata – Ushiro ashi and mae ashi.
