A play on words. Monday, April 06, 2009. Landmarks Association Finally Comes Out with an Anti-U Statement. Frustrated University City Historic Preservationist Gets More Sarcastic Than Usual. I suppose I should be grateful. At least the official Landmarks line is a kinder, gentler message. Than the one in the West End Word. That one came complete with snide remarks. About the academic achievement at our middle and high school. No, actually, we'd rather taxpayers pay more to renovate those schools. Goo...

A Loco Parentis: Blogging with UCity Time
http://alocoparentis.blogspot.com/2009/01/blogging-with-ucity-time.html
A play on words. Friday, January 02, 2009. Blogging with UCity Time. I struggled long and hard with blogging. Namely due to anonymity questions - I'm a student, a teacher, an artist and a mom. They tell us in "teacher school". To know that anonymity is a a fool's game. So here we are. The next challenge will be for me to find interesting things to say. In the meantime, I direct you to one of my favorite edu-bloggers and one the recent posts. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). To BE or not to BE.

A Loco Parentis: February 2009
http://alocoparentis.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
A play on words. Saturday, February 07, 2009. The city council, a bond issue and the West End Word. This is a long blog post of a long email I sent to many of my fellow University City residents, public school parents, school board members and city council members regarding a recent article in a local paper, The West End Word. A link to the article: http:/ www.westendword.com/NC/0/1206.html. I realize this is one or two lines in a West End Word story that may be out of context. Plus I understand not ...

Ordinary is Interesting: April 2010
http://ordinaryisinteresting.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
A place to share the way I see the world. After a late start, I met Joselyn for some photos in Webster University's dance studio. I've always wanted to photograph in that room - the wall of glass is amazing and beautiful, and the dancers that come through there are just as amazing and beautiful. After making sure I had captured the shots I came there for, we played around with her silhouette against the glass as she danced. From Art St. Louis and Ken Konchel. I got to take advantage of the cooler hours o...

A Loco Parentis: March 2009

A play on words. Sunday, March 08, 2009. Historic preservation meets public school budget. Well, time to push the send button. I sent this off to the West End Word. As a reaction to Lindsey Derrington's letter to the editor. All of this is in reaction to the earlier story. What I didn't put in my own note were some snide remarks about the intent of some of our city council members. Architectural preservation? University City wants a piece of the pie. That's going to take some thought. According to the pl...
