Kenn Mitchell's Poetry: one giant step backwards
http://kennmitchellspoetry.blogspot.com/2010/09/one-giant-step-backwards.html
The poetry and rambling thoughts of a working class poet. Thursday, September 23, 2010. One giant step backwards. Today's poem is from 12:97. Written for a friend in Singapore, when we still had occasional. GIVING THE VOICE SANCTUARY. As god pouts - rain. Your cheeks, some would. My voice is a stutter,. Of old and deformed trees. In the bark, if you will. The wind will exchange them. Somehow i will know -. Even across oceans, continents. As god farts - thunder. The uncertainty of your laughter.

http://kennmitchellspoetry.blogspot.com/2011/10/1st-draft-of-new-poem-really.html
The poetry and rambling thoughts of a working class poet. Friday, October 7, 2011. 1st draft of a new poem, really? Anyway, worked on a new poem this morning, really! First one in maybe 8 or 9 years. Is it the start of me returning to writing? Not certain and not likely. Just was listening to some Bo Ramsey music, and this poem started in the back of my head. THIS POEM BEGINS WITH A BO RAMSEY RIFT (1st draft). Bo Ramsey tells me. My dreams are so fragile. Paul Stookey tells me. To tell it on the mountain.
Kenn Mitchell's Poetry: cooler, at least the weather
http://kennmitchellspoetry.blogspot.com/2009/09/cooler-at-least-weather.html
The poetry and rambling thoughts of a working class poet. Thursday, September 10, 2009. Cooler, at least the weather. Summer is winding down. It’s still warm, but not uncontrollably hot. In fact, we had a couple of rainy days a week or so ago. Ah, the lovely sound of rain at night! This poem is a rather dark one from 1997 - a poem accepted by Hunger Magazine. In 1999. Another of those small press magazines that need your support. i do not recall if it was ever actually published or not.

Here is an older poem, one i actually rhymed, which i don't like . just a quick update, to show the blog isn't actually dead, but close . still no comments allowed. i am just too tired of the crap comments, and i don't have the time to sift and edit them out anymore. Here is another from 12:93 -. Little johnny jerk: took three snorts of coke. Shot his old man twice in the head.

Poems prose stories and commentary about the personal and political. Friday, February 22, 2008. Meditation at Brice Creek. Breeze blows-raven cries-water flows. Black fly buzzes- butterfly hovers. Sun sinks lower-sliver of moon crests. Over ridge top- rapids undulate sliding down. Through crevices into deeper channels. Birds sing- shade cools me- mind leaps. In river sings a lullaby. Old wounds open and close like. Shafts of light in the ancient forest. Sun moves farther westward descending towards.

Poems prose stories and commentary about the personal and political. Sunday, October 25, 2009. At the end of the trail beyond the black burnt snags. Of white bark pine vistas open up towards the top. Mt Jefferson rises into the silver layered clouds,. Its peak buried in the tufts of gray billowy masts. The craggy peaks of Three Finger Jack jut up to the west. Mt Washington stands solid and erect to the south. Below a regiment of white saucer-like clouds. Into the patches of blue sky. Links to this post.

Poems prose stories and commentary about the personal and political. Sunday, January 29, 2012. Links to this post. An old crow caws up in a naked oak tree. And the ground is covered. With frost in the early morning. As the sun slowly warms the cold crisp air. More long nights lie ahead with little work outside. It is time to retreat into the fog for awhile. And take a long rest. The cat lies at my feet sleeping. As my eyes grow heavy. And my mind becomes weary. The short days slip away into the darkness.

Poems prose stories and commentary about the personal and political. Monday, March 31, 2008. I call this piece creative non fiction. Some of it has been taken from my own personal experiences and other parts of it have been slightly fabricated and the names have been changed to protect those whom I write about. 8217;t just the bell but other things as well, plans with. I asked myself. I hadn. 8217;t really formed an image in my mind of what she might look like. Two day lilies and two echinecha. But I nee...

Poems prose stories and commentary about the personal and political. Sunday, July 27, 2008. THE FIRE GODDESS, PELE. In her sleep she twists and turns churning from the depths of the earth. Her moon pearl liquid eyes look to infinity, her flaming rock oozes. As she wakes and rises from a long sleep. With the changes of the tectonic plates she shifts from side to side. Comes alive smoking and smoldering on the crater’s rim. Flashes of fire and golden balls of hot rock explode in the blackened skies.

We are putting together a music video for the song and would like to include photos and/or video clips of our friends' dogs (living and gone.). Sunday, July 24, 2011.
