Was at Spynes Mere and the adjacent pit again on the 14th and 15th and an adult MEDITERRANEAN GULL. Was at Mercers Lake on the 16th, presumably the same small individual seen on the 22nd November. Birding in Surrey, Sussex and Kent. Holmethorpe SPs, Surrey … Tuesday 21st December – Sunday 26th December 2010. The 21st produced a female or first-winter male GOLDENEYE. On Mercers Lake along with two pairs of Wigeon. And an impressive count of five Water Rails. On the 22nd there were at least two (and possibly three) female SMEW. And a couple of Siskins. Birding in Surrey, Sussex and Kent. Quarry Hangars NR, between Merstham and Chaldon, Surrey . 29th June 2011. A return visit to Quarry Hangars NR on the North Downs in the hopes of finding more butterflies than on the last visit. I arrived at about 6.30 am and soon found several magnificent Roman Snails. A few Marbled Whites. Were on the wing, along with Ringlets. And the occasional Large Skipper. And a few Small Skippers. Moth and a lot of Common. And Garden Grass Veneer. And numerous Yellow Rattle.

Our intention was to visit Arlington Reservoir again but, on arrival, we failed to find a parking space either in the official car park or on the road opposite the entrance. Kerry, Harcourt, Ike and Legare. Saturday, April 13, 2013. Today was Ike's first day of Soccer and to say he has been excitedly anticipating it would be an understatement! Legare also enjoyed soccer. Thankfully, I bought him a ball the same as Ike's so he played on the sidelines the entire time. He is looking for the U2 team :). Drifting off to the east. A shame that my camera settings were all wrong today! A couple of Ravens. Were calling but remained unseen, as did a calling fly-over Crossbill.
