Kyle Bolton: Prisma Has a Website
http://kylejbolton.blogspot.com/2013/05/prisma-has-website.html
Sunday, May 19, 2013. Prisma Has a Website. Over the weekend, I've been working on Prisma's web presence. It's based off of Alex's designs. Naturally, there's probably some bugs, because I don't have that much HTML and CSS experience. Therefore, what better way to get a bug report than to put it out there for all to see? I'll continue to work on the site over the next few weeks. There's still a few features I want to add, including a team page and possibly even a new playtester hub.

Kyle Bolton: My Second Attempt at Ludum Dare is About to Begin
http://kylejbolton.blogspot.com/2013/12/my-second-attempt-at-ludum-dare-is.html
Friday, December 13, 2013. My Second Attempt at Ludum Dare is About to Begin. It's that time again! As of writing, we're about thirty minutes away from the theme reveal. I'm rather ill prepared for this game jam, so we'll see if I can make it. My last attempt was for LD #26. I've recently released a more polished version of that game on itch.io. I'll try to post regularly on their public blog, so if you want to see any of my in-development ramblings you can find them here. End of Level Menu Mock-up.

Kyle Bolton: Better Late Than Never...
http://kylejbolton.blogspot.com/2013/11/better-late-than-never.html
Thursday, November 21, 2013. Better Late Than Never. Hello everyone. It's been a long time since my last blog post. I've been incredibly busy the past few months, and haven't had the time to provide an update on the various projects I've been working on. I hate to say, but I've stopped and started this blog post several times for two months now. Which is unfortunate, as a lot of cool things have happened. Buckle in, this could be a long ride. We've also updated the pause menu and end of level menu. B...

Kyle Bolton: Emergent Behaviors of Prisma
http://kylejbolton.blogspot.com/2013/02/emergent-behaviors-of-prisma.html
Monday, February 25, 2013. Emergent Behaviors of Prisma. The past couple of weeks have been pretty hectic for Prisma. Since my last blog post, we've made significant progress on art direction, and had another big playtest session (an analysis on that is incoming). During this time, Paul. For example, imagine the following scenario: the player sees a large filtered object, and a smaller constant pushable object. In this case, the primitive cube is the pushable object. Pushable objects have many emergent b...

Kyle Bolton: Information and Boundaries Within Games
http://kylejbolton.blogspot.com/2013/07/information-and-boundaries-within-games.html
Saturday, July 13, 2013. Information and Boundaries Within Games. Johan Huizinga in Homo Ludens: A Study of the Play-Element in Culture. A few weeks ago, I had a conversation with a friend about how The Legend of Zelda. Series has evolved over the years qualitatively. One of his points was that The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Is objectively better than the original Zelda. Much like the achievements and trophies that proliferate in gaming today, players were given meaningless tokens for reaching ...

Project Bala: October 2013
http://projectbala.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 27, 2013. This week I'm going to talk a little bit about our goals for this project. Specifically, go into a little more detail about what we plan to deliver at the end of this first quarter (which is 4 weeks away). It perhaps goes without saying that at the very least, the game will be playable (and it already is! In addition, most of the core features will be in place to expand upon in the second quarter. This includes the player's resources, children, and enemies. 1) Ponds: with Water ...

Kyle Bolton: Xbox, Go Home
http://kylejbolton.blogspot.com/2013/06/xbox-go-home.html
Thursday, June 6, 2013. Xbox, Go Home. Since the terrible PR debacle that was the Xbox One reveal, I've been saying that Microsoft needs to clearly and honestly state their policies, and let consumers decide rather or not the product is right for them. Now that they've attempted to clear up that message ( and failed. I feel that the Xbox One is fundamentally incompatible with my views as a gamer as well as a developer. Put it, this discussion is actually about " the bits [that] are on your hard drive.
