Current ALS Clinical Trials. Mini-update: Feeding Tube 05.19.2008. So we woke up early this past Friday morning to drive down to Emory for my feeding tube procedure. For once we were actually early! We were supposed to arrive by 9:00 and we pulled in at 8:30. I think the reason why we were able to make such good time was because I wasnʼt allowed to eat breakfast. Itʼs amazing how long it takes me to eat. Which is another practical reason to get the procedure. As usual, this note is longer than I intended!

Current ALS Clinical Trials. Mini-update: Feeding Tube/Mic-key 10.08.2008. As most of you know, I had a feeding tube (PEG) installed in mid May. Once the pain caused by surgery was under control, I didn’t have any issues with the tube or incision site, but the long tube attached to my belly was extremely annoying to deal with. I had requested a mic-key. I’m sure she’s a nice person, but she needs to learn to slow down and pay better attention. I promise I tried to condense this a bit!

Current ALS Clinical Trials. Mini-update: Trache 11.29.2010. Breathing was noticably easier right away and the bigger suction cathaters were able to get a lot more on a single pass. The swap also saved me a trip back to Dr. Parikh since the stitches had been removed. We went to see Dr. Parikh early November for a follow-up since Jin suspected there was still something going on. Monday, February 4, 2013. Our oldest, Will, is a train lover. Understatement there, btw) When he was younger, I was always excited when we ran into someone that "spoke Thomas the Train" - the kids that knew which tenders and coaches went with which engines; the kids that knew which ones worked in the slate yard and which ones worked in at the quarry.
