Sunday, February 28, 2010. Saturday, February 06, 2010. Winter Sowing Take 2. Last year, I tried Winter Sowing. For the first time, my results were spotty to say the least. I think I have identified several reasons for this and am trying winter sowing again this year. Here are the things I am changing:. 1) Quality of soil - last year I bought the cheapest soil, which ended up having tons of weed seeds I could not tell the real plants from the weeds. 4) Water - This year bottom water. 10) Poppy Double Oase.

Wednesday, July 28, 2010. The vegetable garden is growing great this year. Pictures below courtesy of GD/GM who were visiting last weekend. Note for next year, do not make poles so tall as you can't reach the beans on the top. Ladybug is getting her fill :). Tuesday, July 27, 2010. We have seen more monarchs this year than any other year. We have added lots of coneflowers, zinnia, hydrangea, and rudabeckia for them to enjoy. Wednesday, March 23, 2011. It is snowing AGAIN! We already have four inches on the ground. The Juncos and chickadees have been feeding at the bird feeders nonstop since it started snowing. Saturday, April 30, 2011. I won the Winter Sowing Kickoff and Free Seeds Giveaway from Amy over at Get Busy Gardening. She was very generous with the annual seeds from her own garden. Most I have already winter sown and look forward to enjoying them this summer. Friday, April 15, 2011. The new chickens are here all 27 of them. They are all Barred Rock except for Mary who is a Americana. Out of the varieties that we had for the last two years, we found the Barred Rocks to be friendlier. Dakota Co Tree Sale.

Carefree, Fancy Free. Nov 14th, 2011 at 9:49 PM. So its been like forever since i used this but honestly i think to stay sane i need to be putting pen to paper or fingers to keys and writing my thoughts down. Sometimes i wish that i had never taken the trip to queensland, sometimes i wish that i had just quit and it would've been easier. It hurts because being 30 still living at home sucks, and maybe i am using it as an excuse but each time i think about moving something goes wrong. Ben and jen news.

All the bulbs are up including these species tulips 'tarda' and Tulipa greigii 'Calypso' in the background. Below the primrose are in full bloom. Saturday, August 20, 2011. Rudbeckia and coneflowers are in full bloom in the chicken garden. These flowers seem to last all summer. The monarchs and swallowtails also have been enjoying them.
