What is the Challenge? - Kings Citizens Coalition
http://kcc4c.ca/challenge
Districts of Kings County. What is the Challenge? In Kings County we have one elected representative for every 946 residents, while in Halifax and Sydney the comparable numbers are one in 8,000 and one in 24,000. Do we really need nine chief administrative officers or senior managers, and many department heads or senior people in finance, planning, public works, recreation, etc? The challenge is the need for an economic strategy that leads to the creation of jobs and the best possible municipal government.

Kingston is a village in Kings County on the north bank of the Annapolis River. In the early 1800s the small community was centered around farming and was first called "Bloomfield". The name "Kingston Station" was given to it in 1868 when the Halifax-Yarmouth main line of the Dominion Atlantic Railway was built and passed through the community, with its station being meant to serve the neighboring communities of Kingston Village (now known as Greenwood) and North Kingston.
