Thursday, June 29, 2006. The traditional Scandinavian Midsummer night celebrations reminded me of the countless bonfires we’ve had at Bird’s Hill Park beach. The northern lights were missing, but that’s where the dreaming comes in. Other things I look forward to seeing and enjoying in Canada: open skies, the people I love, trees lining the streets, Peter Mansbridge filling me in on the days events, the Gimli Film Festival (August 1-5 this year, Becky! Saturday, May 26, 2007. Today I went to my first half-marthon.I didn't participate, but I was there. Joined by other exchange students, I cheered. On the runners Craig, Katie, Molly, and Theresa. Katrina and I made these fabolous signs to support the runners, but unfortunatel. Y Katie was the only runner to see the sign while running, and that was only after I shoved it in front of her.
