The Little Things: August 2005
http://eolson.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 22, 2005. Our first day in China, what a mess! The sun is bright, the air is warm and it's our first day in China! Our plan is to get some currency (because we have zero) and then take the train into Shanghai to tool around for a while. We leave the hotel confused but did decipher that there is an ATM at the train station. DONG, DONG, DONG! No sooner than it pulls away, do we realize that we have no damn money to pay the fare! We look around and eventually come to the House of Flour (baker...

Saturday, July 30, 2005. What is the plural of Platypus? I saw a kangaroo today! I can finally scratch that one off the list. Christine, Halley, Sarah and I went to the Healesville Sanctuary, which is a wildlife park in the Yarra Valley (wine country) an hour outside Melbourne. It's a pristine establishment and is supposed to be THE place to see all the cool Australian animals, such as: kangaroos, dingos, emus, wombats, tasmanian devils, platypus, in their natural habitat. We finally get on a moving tram...

The Little Things: December 2005
http://eolson.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 18, 2005. Ho, ho.hot? I just had one of those Zen traveling moments during a walk this evening when I spotted Orion in the sky for the first time, which is the constellation I know best back home. It took me a moment notice that it's upside down (because I'm in the Southern Hemisphere). Then it just hit me just how far away from home I am right now.and there's no place I'd rather be. :-). Take care all and I'll be in touch in two weeks. Expect pictures. Posted by Eric O. @ 11:55 PM.

THE Northern Lights: Bringin Em Up Brouillard. Thursday, December 29, 2005. Christmas Day with our Families. Here are some pics from Christmas. We had such a wonderful time! As usual, it went by too quickly. Dad cookin' the omelettes. OH YEAH - YUM! Mom can bring home the bacon. Fry it up on a griddle. Pat and Fran diggin' in. Three guesses on who is holding the shovel. Hint - it's not Rick). Derek discovering his toys Christmas morning. His basketball and soccer ball were the big hits. Here are a couple...

THE Northern Lights: Bringin Em Up Brouillard. Friday, January 27, 2006. Hmm, frozen blueberries SEEMED like a good idea for a snack. But will the blue dye ever come out of his jeans, the high chair seat cover, his bib and my shirt? Yeah, I'm thinking "no." He had the blue under his nails for two days - it looked like we hadn't bathed him in weeks - LOL! BUT, look how much fun he's having? Posted by The Brouillard Family @ 9:40 AM. Wednesday, January 11, 2006. Should we sell it on eBay? Then you need to ...

THE Northern Lights: Bringin Em Up Brouillard. Friday, August 26, 2005. Memories of Grandma T. Here are a few nice memories of time spent with Grandma. She loved music and she was good at it. That was something she was proud of. When I think about her love of flower arranging, music, crafts, I think of what a very creative, artistic person she was. I admire that creativity very much. As I'm writing this I also remember she wrote a lot of poetry! To be here with my Grandma! What did they say? It was defin...

THE Northern Lights: Bringin Em Up Brouillard. Tuesday, November 15, 2005. Derek's 18 month and Baby #2 13 week ultrasound. These are Derek's 18 month old pictures. I was comparing them to his earlier photos can't believe how big he is getting. It goes by so quickly! What's amazing about these ultrasound photos is that the baby is only about 4 inches long. It's incredible that all body parts and organs are formed so early and SO SMALL! Posted by The Brouillard Family @ 4:40 AM. Thoughts of the Day. On Sa...

The Little Things: September 2005
http://eolson.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 18, 2005. It's the thought that counts. This one is a bit tough to read but it says, "Do Not Drive Tiredly". We saw this while on a bike ride tour well outside of Beijing. There's a huge problem with garbage in Beijing because no one knows where to put it. This one was in our room in Dali. I never realized until I saw this how much we take shower safety for granted in the US. Needless to say, for the rest of the trip I kept an eye out for dangerous Landtowels. I was very excited. I wrot...
