Just another WordPress.com site. Out and about…. I am a 56 year old grandmother living in northern california. I graduated in 1999 from UC Davis with a BA in Fine Arts. I love all things yarn, reading, and the arts! I recently began a business selling my knit and crochet items, as well as soon my artwork. After being given a spanking brand new sewing machine by my wonderful mother I have taken up quilting and I am in love with it! Haven't made a quilt yet, just learning the ropes, but I'm having a blast!

free motion quilting is fun! | knitsmiths

https://knitsmiths.wordpress.com/2013/05/01/free-motion-quilting-is-fun

Just another WordPress.com site. Out and about…. Free motion quilting is fun! May 1, 2013. I have been trying out my darning foot and having lots of fun! So far i’ve only worked on scraps of fabric with batting in the middle…it’s a bit scary to have to control the fabric, but at the same time it’s fun to see the wiggles and swirls magically appear on the pieces! I want to try to draw some pics and then quilt them…simple stuff like flowers or smiley faces! Mostly reading, cooking (potstickers on sunday!

Little House In The Mountains. Making a home and a life out West. Fresh Food and Fresh Ideas. Yesterday I wrote about my new food journey into a lifestyle of mostly raw, mostly vegan foods. While I am feeling great, I have noticed two things about this lifestyle that are potential problems. First, it can be expensive. As Dr. Fuhrman would explain in Eat to Live, this is largely due to … Continue reading →. A New Way of Looking at Food. Fall’s Best Soup. Kitchen Tool of the Week: ZOKU Quick-Pop Maker.

One note about the nuts you choose: I like to use raw nuts, but it is fine to use roasted nuts, as long as they are dry roasted (not roasted in oil and not salted – you don’t need any extra sodium, and the mono-unsaturated fats from the nuts are all you need). I really liked the colour but I didn't know what to do with it until I saw the Chrysalis. Sunday was a dyeing workshop at This Is Knit. This is a fairly new addition to their classes and I thought it might be a bit of fun. Well, I was wrong - it was a lot.
