Knitting Nattering

Thursday, September 13, 2007. I've decided to consolidate a bit, and have merged this blog in with my regular one. Why protect the masses from knitting, after all? Must share, and potentially rope in new. So, please, come join me over at http:/ katesaid.wordpress.com. The knitting posts won't happen any more often than they did here, I suspect - but there will be a lot more going on as filler in between the important, fiber-enhanced stuff. Tuesday, August 14, 2007. People use the word endless. Well) Then...

Knitting Nattering: No Knitting Here...

http://knittingnattering.blogspot.com/2007/07/no-knitting-here.html

Monday, July 9, 2007. Not right now, anyway. Very soon, within a day or two, I hope to be done with my gray Kepler sweater, and then can dive back into Willem's Aran sweater. I'm looking forward to his reaction. he knows I'm working on something this week, but he doesn't know what. It has been a project characterized by two important skills: abandoning pointless pride and learning to accept help graciously when it's offered, and accepting minor imperfections in service of getting to the bigger picture.

Knitting Nattering: Destashing... but Keeping it in the Family

http://knittingnattering.blogspot.com/2007/08/destashing-but-keeping-it-in-family.html

Thursday, August 2, 2007. Destashing. but Keeping it in the Family. Yesterday, we got pretty new floors in my house - gratuitous floor shots here. And part of the preparation for said onslaught involved emptying the floor of my crafts closet, which is where my yarn lives. So, while it was out, I gave it a critical glare and decided that I was holding onto far too much acrylic that I was just never going to use. So, farewell, old friends. Have good, useful lives. out of the closet. Ein Klein Knit Magik.

Saturday, December 11, 2010. Don't promise ice cream to a 9 (almost 10) year old unless you can deliver! The Barbarees have been such good friends of mine for a long time. Mother of two. Knitting on the weekends. July 04, 2011. Holidays, wonderful holidays. I have been branching out into the world of quilting during the last term, oh my goodness, what a guilty pleasure it is going to become! And with a quilting shop just around the corner from me it is just too convenient, really! I have my first FO to show you - a lap quilt/ baby cot sized quilt, block by block, firstly if you will indulge me:. And, finally, the finished object - TA DA! So great to meet at last!

Knitting Naturals | Knitting, Crocheting, and Craftyness

Rag Rug Woes and Other Crafty News. So I had a bunch of old sheets that we weren’t using, and had the brilliant idea to use them for a rug. It’s resourceful and eco-friendly to upcycle something, right? Then I learned a valuable lesson–I don’t like making rag rugs. So I just finished it and it’s too small. But I do look on the bright side. I tried something new and I didn’t care for it. That’s ok. Trying new things always teaches us more about ourselves. And for that I am thankful. Knitting Naturals | Knitting, Crocheting, and Craftyness

Christmas is certainly upon us, and with less than a week to go, I hope you’re all ready for the festivities! This year, I decided to make everyone on my list a holiday wreath, each with a little (or a lot) of my great-grandmother’s yarn. I love the warm, cozy look and feel of yarn-wrapped wreaths, so I made my own versions. Some I simply wrapped with a single piece of yarn, others I wrapped with a. I couldn’t post all the wreaths, since not everyone has opened theirs yet 😀 but I loved making them!
