한국생물환경조절학회장 취임에 즈음하여,. 한국생물환경조절학회는 1991년 12월 서울대에서 ‘한국생물생산시설환경학회’로 창립 된 이래 25년이 지났습니다. 그 동안 시대적 필연성에 의해 태동되어 시설원예 산업에 중추적 역할을 해오던 3개 단체인 ‘시설원예연구회’, ‘수경재배연구회’, ‘생물환경조절학회’의 통합을 통해 새로운 도약을 이뤄 비교적 짧은 역사임에도 불구하고 우리 학회는 국내 시설농업 관련 학문과 산업 발전에 지대한 공헌을 해 왔습니다. 이러한 성과의 중심에는 역대 회장님을 위시한 집행부 여러분과 회원들의 꾸준한 노력이 있었다고 생각합니다. 앞으로도 우리 학회는 산업적으로는 심각한 농업노동력의 감소와 시장 개방에 따른 국제경쟁이라는 냉엄한 현실에 맞서 시설농업의 새로운 가능성과 발전 방안을 제시하고 기술개발을 선도해 나가야 할 역할을 충실히 수행할 것입니다. 한국생물환경조절학회가 이러한 역할을 성공적으로 달성하기 위해 우리 회원들의 지혜와 힘을 결집해야 할 때라고 생각합니다.
