On The Verge...: Gram Stain
http://sarah-ontheverge.blogspot.com/2012/12/gram-stain.html
Wednesday, December 26, 2012. It was a super slow day at work today but it was good to be back in the lab with my coworkers. I seriously love the people with whom I work: Sherry, Patricia, Dawn, Terisa, Samantha, Rebekah, and Chris. Six lovely ladies and our token male. Everyone is just so nice and pleasant and there is a never-ending flow of biology-speak. It definitely feels like home. :). That Kelly's boyfriend ought to drive himself. Monday, January 30, 2012. The above book is required reading for my history and nature of science class. Mind blowing, man! Sunday, January 29, 2012. It's always nice, too, to attend a wedding with my wonderful husband. In a few months we'll be celebrating our 8-year wedding anniversary. Where or where does the time go? In him, I still see the 17-year-old I fell in love with. Yay for love! Saturday, January 28, 2012. Maybe it wasn't so bad after all. Come first right now - my thesis can wait. Work and no...

Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Dear Lord, give me strength. Tuesday, December 27, 2011. Missouri 41 - North Carolina 24. Paul and I arrived home after a lovely excursion to Louisiana for some FOOTBALL! After the game, we invaded the local bars downtown. Literally. Paul and I wandered into The Blind Tiger. And were immediately greeted with "M-I-Z! As the place was completely packed with Black and Gold. Good thing we were all on our best behavior - I couldn't imagine such a gathering in Lawrence, Kansas.

On The Verge...: October 2012
http://sarah-ontheverge.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Just wanted to share. It was 80 degrees when I returned home from work today. I literally stripped down to tank-top and shorts and exposed my bare skin to the warm sunshine on my back porch. Bliss! Sunday, October 28, 2012. Anyways, campus was much more crowded than usual and tailgaters were unusually generous. Even though Paul and I arrived at 1 pm, six whole hours, before kick-off Jed and Christine had been going strong since 8:30 am. Epic! Me and Lovely Christine. It was 72 ...

Thursday, August 30, 2012. The woman I was. The woman I'm becoming. But, my eyes have been opened. Is that really living. For the first time ever, I can honestly say I have no idea what I want to do with my life. I feel like I'm groping in the dark, my feet on a path whose end I cannot see. It's terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. Just telling myself, I don't. Have to use my master's degree,. It's a new day. Wednesday, August 29, 2012. What does Sarah want? Vegas, June 2007. On The Verge...: Wonderful day!
http://sarah-ontheverge.blogspot.com/2012/12/wonderful-day.html
Monday, December 17, 2012. Well last night and woke up feeling ridiculously rested. I managed to maintain my inner calm and Christmas spirit all the way to work this morning. I'm sure listening to The Carpenters' Christmas Portrait. While maneuvering through traffic helped quite a bit. :) The day at work remained calm and quiet, basically the opposite of last Monday. I only received three specimens: two Salmonella. And an E. coli. Species. Vibrio cholerae. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

On The Verge...: November 2012
http://sarah-ontheverge.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 30, 2012. I have 5 minutes til I need to work but I wanted to blog about my week. Even though my job is wonderful and not too overly-stimulating, I still need to "get it out" once in awhile so it doesn't build up. This week has been quite enlightening. I've learned even more about enteric bacteria, adding the species Havnia alvei. To my personal "database" of non-pathogenic, common flora found in stool. I also learned that some strains of Salmonella. Monday, November 26, 2012. Oh, I know!

Tuesday, July 31, 2012. It's a beautiful 85 degrees here at 7 am out on my back porch. I've been awake for a few hours already. I fed the cats at 5 am (as usual) and, after tossing and turning til about 6, I decided to get up. I came outside and did some yoga to greet the morning. Feels so good - a wonderful way to start the day. :). Kidding when I say that being from Missouri (Go Big 12! Regardless, I still have the interview with the Dept of Agriculture on Aug 6th. :).
