Tips for Choosing a Photograph. The better the photo quality, the better the portrait. If the photo is out of focus, I will probably not be able to see enough detail. If you are unsure as to the quality of the photo, please send it to me and I will let you know if I can see enough detail. The closer the subject's face is, the better the photo is for a portrait drawing. The size of the original photo is unimportant since I can usually enlarge the photo to show enough detail.
