Abby's blog! (:: January 2009

Tuesday, January 27, 2009. The drive to the ferry was always stifling. However, being stuck with your dad and your obnoxious older brother in the back of a taxi with your mom awkwardly conversing in the front seat with the sketchy cab driver was just about unbearable. Welcome to my life. Want some french fries, Ollie? Damek waggled his digits in my face. In his lap, a Styrofoam container of french fries sat, invitingly. I closed my eyes and rested my head on the fingerprint smeared window. I envision...

Friday, January 30, 2009. Even though Ken and Doodle were brothers, they were also best friends. They told each other everything and anything. Ken was kind of snobby and Doodle was ok with that most of the time. 8220;What should I do? 8221; he asked his little brother. 8220;Well you can try to convince grandma to let you play. Duh! 8220;She will never go along with it after losing mom and dad.”. 8220;I don’t know then, I’m not a therapist! 8220;Grandma, can you sign this? 8221; he asked. 8220;What…...

Abby's blog! (:: Decisions, decisions.
http://abbyenglish9f.blogspot.com/2009/03/draft-1-omas-essay.html
Friday, March 27, 2009. Decision-making is one of life's greatest challenges. They alter the course of your life. Many times, there are no guides. You just have to take your best guess and go with it. If you made the wrong choice, oh well! There are no take-backs in life. The protagonist of the novella, The Old Man and the Sea, Santiago, knows this well, perhaps better than many. His choice to go fishing without Manolin the day he caught the marlin greatly affected the course of events.

Nina's Blog: Fame: Is it glourius?
http://ninaenglish9f.blogspot.com/2009/01/fame-is-it-glourius.html
Saturday, January 31, 2009. Fame: Is it glourius? It was February fourth and Molly had just entered the ice to begin her free skate she had already skated her short program. She was in fourth place and she had to get about a hundred and twenty-one in order to score first. It was possible but she had to land all of her jumps including her axel. She would have performed her routine perfectly but she also knew that she could be in grave danger of injurying. All the work had paid off? Sent from her best frie...

Nina's Blog: skating to the music
http://ninaenglish9f.blogspot.com/2008/10/value-essay.html
Tuesday, October 7, 2008. Skating to the music. In reality, how can you put value on something? In a world that expects everyone to own shirts that cost hundreds of dollars you wouldn’t think that eighty dollar shoes would be worth anything to me. Surprisingly, they are the only thing that keeps me going. I live to put them on and wander out into the cold air of the rink. Desiiiiiii * * *. October 9, 2008 at 9:06 PM. Nice job Nina (:.
