Ramblings of an adventurous guy living in Denver and playing in the mountains. For my trail adventures, visit my Trail Bum blog. Tuesday, October 31, 2006. Posted by JeffO @ 7:57 PM. Sunday morning between Canyonlands and Arches -. The La Sal mountains from where Paul Grimm and I slept. Our 2nd night under the stars was like the 1st - clear sky and tons of falling stars. Paul went for another dark morning run while I soaked up the views. Believe it or not, I'd never been to Moab, Canyonlands, or Arches.

Most people are full of shit, to some degree. It's part of being human. It's not necessarily even a bad thing, as long as it's limited. It can even add to the entertaining and enjoyable quality of a personality - as long as your bullshit isn't out of control. Seems my entire life is like that. I "go for it". How strong is a stick? When I met my somet...

Ramblings of an adventurous guy living in Denver and playing in the mountains. For my trail adventures, visit my Trail Bum blog. Tuesday, November 28, 2006. Yesterday evening, one of my toenails was itching, so I rubbed it. The toe nail came off. It was long-gone anyway, so when it fell off, there was no pain. I've been used to all my ugly dead and dieing nails. The one that fell off has a soft, clean-looking nail growing underneath. Posted by JeffO @ 11:43 AM. Friday, November 24, 2006. I ate with the u...

It's easy to run up steep sections carefully, because you're barely crawling. But then I started down that last part. It's scary and exciting. One wrong step can destroy you. Ted tripped, at one point, but somehow managed to stay on his feet. Then he passed and burst ahead. It was a great run. Really good for the soul.

Denver has been hit by storm #2:part 1. Storm #2:part 2 is due this evening. So the snow is piling deeper and deeper. This was a shock when it caused people to not get to work and the coffee shops, liquor stores, and DVD stores were closed. But today everything is open. Posted by JeffO @ 1:00 PM. We had 14-30 ...

Yonder Mountain Trail Runner. Thursday, June 26, 2014. San Juan Solstice 50. Five years was much too long of a wait to return to this race (my first 50-miler in 2009). Lake City is great! The San Juan mountains are great! This race is great! Although I wasn't as fast as I would have liked (did someone say "training race"? You can't complain when you get to soak in the beauty of the San Juans. First of many stream crossings. Williams Creek Aid (Mile 16). The Divide Aid Station (mile 31) and the drop back ...

And drove to Lake City on Friday with my coach and brother in law Paul DeWitt. Talk about a post race bonus! I could hobble my way to an adult beverage. The single track criss crosses a...
