Activities and stories for language gardeners. A Word Cloud Blog Challenge. October 11, 2011 21 Comments. Plants of the people, by the people, for the people. Well, stage 1 is here, and I’d like to propose a blog challenge. It’s simple enough: make your own word art a language plant, a mind map or word cloud using the new language plant maker. Seeing as there seems to be a large dogme contingent, how about an activity from Teaching Unplugged, The lesson that was? Click this link, the language plant maker.

Carol Read's ABC of Teaching Children. Ideas, tips and resources for primary language teachers. October 25, 2010. S is for Storytelling. How often do you start the day at work exchanging stories with colleagues about, for example, why the bus was late, the film you saw last night, or who you met by chance on the way home? When we watch the news on television, presenters also often refer to the main news of the day as ‘our top stories’. The first is chosen with the approach of Halloween in mind! At the st...

Links / Networks / Interests. In July 2011 I was lucky enough to take some of my teenagers on a 4 day residential to a place called Bransdale Mill in North Yorkshire. Mantras of a Mad Man: October 2010

http://mistermikelcc.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Sunday, 17 October 2010. Videos for the past simple. How could I make my classes more interactive and interesting for the students and any would be observer? I wanted to engage the learners in a way that had relevance and meaning in their lives. After watching the TV for about 15 minutes I saw this advert for a well-known, high street branch. There are others, this isn't an endorsement :). Next there are plenty of opportunities to freeze it and ask questions. What is happening? Here's a few other ideas:.

Hello Cruel World: enero 2012

http://hellocruelworldalanmtait.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Miércoles, 25 de enero de 2012. Today, boy oh boy, it's O! This time, we're going to start modelling the pure sound. Adrian Underhill. Seems to favour this, rather than practicing syllables, words or phrases, at least at lower levels. I've tried this method out in class, and it does focus attention marvellously. So, here we go. Today we're only going to contrast two sounds:. Lock, bottle, song. Show, coat, phone. Practice this yourself first if you don't feel very comfortable with pronunciation. ;).

Hello Cruel World: abril 2012

Lunes, 30 de abril de 2012. Have you ever played Russian Roulette? Slept rough in Paris? Worked as a spy? Sadly, questions like this rarely appear in oral exams, but the structure abounds. And it's frequent enough as a conversation starter in real life. (You remember real life. those disorientating moments when you're neither teaching nor sleeping? Well never mind. It abounds in oral exams.). If you have a dice and a cup, you might want to try this game out. Write or project up the following expressions:.

Activities and stories for language gardeners. February 21, 2014. Climbing to the top demands strength, whether it is to the top of Mount Everest, or to the top of your career. A P J Abdul Kalam, one-time President of India. To this above quote, I’d add learning a language. It can be a long, arduous climb. Here is what I’ve found:. I see a word, I hear it.
