Listening To Reason...: March 2006
http://stonebridgecrossings.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
The worst government is often the most moral. One composed of cynics is often very tolerant and humane. But when fanatics are on top there is no limit to oppression." - H. L. Mencken. Wednesday, March 29, 2006. War and Christanity, Can we talk about it? I want to say something about the war, religion and pacifism. My tradition, Churches of Christ, is not so primitive anymore. We have gone into the mainstream and we have bought into and paid for the whole idea of the Christian nation, and patriotic du...

Urban Connection: The Solution
http://lesliegrubbsurbanconnection.blogspot.com/2011/08/solution.html
Saturday, August 27, 2011. But what is poverty? Who are the poor? And how do we alleviate it? When Helping Hurts" states that. Poverty is the result of relationships that do not work, that are not just, that are not for life, that are not harmonious or enjoyable. Poverty is the absence of shalom in all its meanings.". So, when you look at poverty that way, who are the poor? What can Jesus do for the community while they are still living? Poverty alleviation is the ministry of reconciliation: moving peopl...

Sunday, October 3, 2010. This week I am visiting my parent organization Central Dallas Ministries and giving a presentation to at the All Staff Meeting about what we are doing in San Antonio. I am showing them this video and thought that you all may enjoy it too. Some may have seen it before on our Facebook page or on YouTube so I hope you don’t mind seeing it again. Thank you to Pastor Craig Grubbs, my husband, for making this video for us. I promise it will bless you. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Urban Connection: August 2011
http://lesliegrubbsurbanconnection.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 29, 2011. Not because no one was there to impart wisdom. People sometimes are where they are not because they want to be, but because they don't know any other way. How do you learn to be a good parent if you haven't had it modeled or told to you? How do you not have 6 children before you are 25 years old, if that is all you've seen? How do you get a job when no one in your family has ever worked? How do you know you can eat well off of $35 when all you've ever know is people's scraps?

Urban Connection: May 2008
http://lesliegrubbsurbanconnection.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 19, 2008. Friday, May 16, 2008. I have decided to begin blogging. This is something new for me. I am a little afraid of it, but I feel it is necessary. I need some tangible way to document what goes on at Urban Connection on a daily basis even if it is in a small way. I don't think so. This blog will be about our successes and our failures in the community. I will do my best to write daily. So, here we go. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Follow us on our journey to find out.

Christ, Church and Chicken!: April 2007
http://christchurchandchicken.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Christ, Church and Chicken! My feeble contribution in the blog community! Monday, April 16, 2007. It's kind of like McHappy. Do you catch my drift? I stink at blogging! But I am back to give it a try. Thanks to all of you who reminded me that I haven't blogged since October! Funny thing is that it's about the same temperature today in April than it was in October when I last wrote. I won;t bore you with the old "I'm going to be more disciplined this time! Isn't funny how the Spirit works? Are asking ques...

Christ, Church and Chicken!: An Orange T-Shirt
http://christchurchandchicken.blogspot.com/2009/02/orange-t-shirt.html
Christ, Church and Chicken! My feeble contribution in the blog community! Thursday, February 26, 2009. In eigth grade, circa 1988, I played on the school basketball team. While our school colors were gold and blue, our basketball uniforms were orange and white. I think we voted for those colors. many of us on the basketball team were Syracue Orangemen fans. Our basketball uniforms were SWEEET! WE had our regular basketball jerseys and shorts along with orange T-shirts that went underneath the jerseys.

Christ, Church and Chicken!: January 2008
http://christchurchandchicken.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Christ, Church and Chicken! My feeble contribution in the blog community! Wednesday, January 30, 2008. You see, I figured that if I wait so long between posts, it makes any new post that much more exciting. My long awaited return to the Blogosphere. Makes for compelling news. Already, the news of my return will make waves among my family and friends. So this pause between posts was contrived and planned. I did it on purpose. Naw. But here are some highlights. To our goals in life, family and ministry.

Christ, Church and Chicken!: February 2009
http://christchurchandchicken.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Christ, Church and Chicken! My feeble contribution in the blog community! Saturday, February 28, 2009. It's 11:49, and I have already missed a day. But I did that on purpose to see how many people would notice. Yeah, that's it! I wanted to see how many people were watching to see if I would mess up. Isn't that how life is? We wait for people to mess up so we can say ha ha look at you, you messed up! So that's why I intentionally skipped a day! Just kidding, I screwed up! But I'll make up for it! We screw...
