September | 2013 | The Travelin' Texan

The Travelin' Texan. American Auxiliar living in Galicia, Spain. Monthly Archives: September 2013. On September 25th, I finally made it to Galicia! It took three flights, and the sweetest landlords picking me up from the airport to get me here… but here I am! I didn’t get enough sleep before leaving home and obviously didn’t get much when I got here, so I’m a very sleepy person. Slowly but surely I am catching up, though! So far I like it very much… lots of new places to explore! Blog at WordPress.com.

The Travelin' Texan. American Auxiliar living in Galicia, Spain. Portugal – Part 2 (Sintra). Whew, I just can’t keep up with this very well, can I? Sorry ’bout that! Okay so here we go… the second Portugal update! I am not sure if you have ever heard of Sintra, but it’s pretty freaking cool. They are well known for their castles, and they do not disappoint! One of the first things we saw after the bus dropped us off were the interesting choices of statues and art along the road. Lookin a wee bit on the r...

The Travelin' Texan. American Auxiliar living in Galicia, Spain. The Wonder That Is Prague. Alright I’m going to start this off by saying that I have been wanting to visit Prague for a good while. It has been on my “travel wish list,” but I never really expected it would happen. Luckily for me, it was on my flatmate’s wish list as well… so we decided to go for it! In all the hustle and bustle of trying to figure out if we were even going to make it to the Czech Republic, I forgot to look up the conversio...

The Travelin' Texan. American Auxiliar living in Galicia, Spain. Monthly Archives: December 2013. Quick update from my phone since it will be a while before I can make a detailed post! We left Paris yesterday afternoon and I absolutely loved it! Even if it was wet and windy! I finally got to see the Eiffel Tower… Something I’ve dreamed of for as long as I can remember! We have arrived in Barcelona… Hope the weather is a bit nicer here! Detours and pretty views. Needless to say, I really needed something ...

The Travelin' Texan. American Auxiliar living in Galicia, Spain. Monthly Archives: April 2014. Vienna Day 2 – Austrian National Library, Hofburg Palace, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and a little Mozart! Ah, once again I’ve allowed way too much time to pass before finishing a trip post. I may be even more behind this time since we just took our Semana Santa trip down to Andalucia. Basically I have 3 more cities to post after this last Vienna one. Oops! You do need to buy tickets to go in (more info here.

Erin, Aquí y Allá. Missing Home. →. Speaking Spanish Is Hard. October 22, 2013. Words are hard. Spanish words are harder. Let’s be honest, there are times–days, even–when I am less than articulate in English, my native language. If I can’t even get the language that I’ve been speaking for over 20 years right, what hope is there for my non-native tongue? Having a B.A. in Spanish Speaking fluent Spanish. I was the shit, remember? At Spanish; I really did know quite a few complicated verbs and tenses. B...

For example, the fox rationalises not being able to get the grapes as not really wanting them anyway, a person might justify continuing smoking because nothing bad is happening to them because of it. It has also been argued that cog...
