The Daniels: May 2015

http://lauraelizabeth1201.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

May 28, 2015. David and I have spent this semester teaching ESL classes through the RALC. Last Thursday night we had our last night of ESL of the semester, so we had a ceremony where our students received certificates. Goodies for my class on their final exam night last week. My class with their certificates! David handing out a certificate to Emilio. Emilio was in David's class and his wife Belsi was in my class! David's class with their certificates. I'm grateful that I got to be a part of it. This rec...

The Daniels: Cooking Up Memories: Introduction

http://lauraelizabeth1201.blogspot.com/2014/08/cooking-up-memories-introduction.html

August 1, 2014. Cooking Up Memories: Introduction. I received a lot of recipes when David and I got married. My sisters-in-law hosted a shower with family and close friends and had everyone bring recipes with them and then I received a box of recipes from a co-worker and some recipes from a few other friends included in our wedding gifts. I was so grateful to get all of those, because I really do love to be in the kitchen! That there were 51. I was searching through different cooking quotes this afternoo...

The Daniels: Cooking up Memories: Chocolate Sheet Cake

http://lauraelizabeth1201.blogspot.com/2015/07/cooking-up-memories-chocolate-sheet-cake.html

July 9, 2015. Cooking up Memories: Chocolate Sheet Cake. This recipe was gifted to me by David's Aunt Jarla. She brought this recipe along with 2 of the cake pans she uses to the shower and I've used the pans a lot. But hadn't yet made this cake. I knew it was one that I would love, but since it probably wouldn't be high on David's list I was waiting for the right time to make it for a group, otherwise I'd end up eating almost an entire cake by myself (and it's so delicious that I probably would have!

February 27, 2015. Cooking Up Memories: Baked Ziti {Snow Day Edition}. This has been a crazy week for all of us here in the Dallas area! We've had ice and snow off and on all week so lots of things cancelled and moved around and changed up. Tonight we were supposed to have ICF and I had a different recipe picked out for an appetizer to take, but then it was cancelled due to the snow today so we're back to Baked Ziti. And this was no exception. It was good meal for a cozy night at home. Cook pasta, drain.

The Daniels: Cooking up Memories: Chicken Salad

http://lauraelizabeth1201.blogspot.com/2015/07/cooking-up-memories-chicken-salad.html

July 12, 2015. Cooking up Memories: Chicken Salad. Well I am not to recipe #50, the final recipe of the bunch. And this is one of my favorites. I had seen this recipe early on and knew it would be a good one to make. My plan was to make it sometime in the Spring. David and I had talked about going to take Lily hiking on the trails. By our apartment once the weather got warmer/nicer. And I thought it would be perfect to make this chicken salad and take it to eat for lunch while on our hike. 1/2 cup Sour C...

Fort Collins: The Whirlwind – count it all joy

https://amyoftexas.wordpress.com/2015/07/16/fort-collins-the-whirlwind

Count it all joy. A slice of my journey. Fort Collins: The Whirlwind. July 16, 2015. July 16, 2015. I’ve been at my new job for less than three months and I’ve already taken off three days and had two holidays off. One of those was last Friday, which I used to join Chad and his family in Fort Collins, Colorado, for his cousin’s wedding. It was a short trip and I wanted to travel light, so I really slacked in the photo department. The rehearsal dinner was at the groom’s home, which was on about five...

Count it all joy. A slice of my journey. August 3, 2015. August 2, 2015. July is a favorite month. I love the long days and the endless possibilities of the summer. I love the energy and spirit of Independence Day. I love traveling, which often happens in July. The big events this year were a short trip to Fort Collins. And the launching of a new community group I’m attending. But first, July Fourth. Our faithful servant leader Jon treated the exiting young adults leaders to a thank-you dinner at the wor...

count it all joy – Page 2 – a slice of my journey

https://amyoftexas.wordpress.com/page/2

Count it all joy. A slice of my journey. September 1, 2016. I was excited to surpass 400 miles at the beginning of August! My Nike app has records of all my runs dating back to 2011. If you happen to remember, I topped 300 miles. Just last December, so my mileage has definitely shot up this year. Our last summer run:. No plate, no fork, just drizzle a tiny bit of syrup and eat it with one hand. Classy. We keep getting these brief but powerful rainstorms that fill up the drainage behind our apartment....

Monday, May 7, 2012. Live And Live Well. BREATHE. Breathe in and Breathe deeply. Be PRESENT. Do not be past. Do not be future. Be now. On a crystal clear, breezy 70 degree day, roll down the windows and FEEL the wind against your skin. Feel the warmth of the sun. If you run, then allow those first few breaths on a cool Autumn day to FREEZE your lungs and do not just be alarmed, be ALIVE. Get knee-deep in a novel and. LOSE track of time. If you bike, pedal HARD… and if you crash then crash well.

Tuesday, February 14, 2012. So much has happened since my last post, but I don't know where to start/how to get back into blogging and I find that I just keep putting it off more and more. Ran our first half marathon together (DRC Half) in November. Joined a small group through our church late November. I very rarely have the feeling of "this is exactly. Where we're supposed to be in our lives right now." but it's so nice that BOTH of us feel that way about our group. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Wandering into adulthood: July 2012

http://wanderingintoadulthood.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Growing into the woman and wife God created me to be. Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Honesty time. Lately I haven't felt much like blogging (probably because I'm not in the habit) but partially because I've been discouraged a bit. On Sunday our pastor preached on faith and made a statement I've heard before but this time it hit me a little harder. Curtis said "God always answers prayer, but he answers in 3 ways; yes, no, or not yet.". Free to Be Me by Francesca Battistelli. A war's already waged for my destiny.
