Using a similar color pallet, composition and technique, I created my own painting from some fake roses I also happened to inherit from my grandfather. Laura Wegkamp Fine Art. Fine Art and Illustration. Wednesday, January 2, 2013. The Edge of Imagination. This is a digitally painted self portrait. As I perch on the edge of possibility, I long for my imagination to take flight. Like Dumbo, maybe all I need is a magical feather so I have the faith to take the leap. January 7, 2013 at 10:49 AM. January 7, 2013 at 7:20 PM. Wonderful composition. I love the draping and the birds. January 8, 2013 at 6:20 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Laura Wegkamp Fine Art. Fine Art and Illustration. Monday, February 22, 2010. This painting is done in gouache, which is an opaque watercolor. It's not quite finished as it needs a few little touchups. It's based off a picture I took one spring while visiting my sister-in-law in Cleveland. Wednesday, February 17, 2010. Beach Boys of Miravalle. This is another scene inspired by my trip to El Salvador. This painting is an unorthodox mixture of watercolor and oil paints. Apaneca, El Salvador.

Laura Wegkamp Fine Art: Kelsey
http://laura-wegkamp.blogspot.com/2012/08/kelsey.html
Laura Wegkamp Fine Art. Fine Art and Illustration. Thursday, August 30, 2012. Keeping with the same style, process, bush (digital, of course), and color pallet, as the previous two paintings of flowers, I did a painting of my daughter. I intentionally tightened up the focal area while progressively loosening up as I moved away from the focal point. I think the effect is lovely. A very sweet painting of a very sweet little girl. This is so beautiful, lovely work, I like the colors 3.

Laura Wegkamp Fine Art: Madre de Guatemala
http://laura-wegkamp.blogspot.com/2012/08/madre-de-guatemala.html
Laura Wegkamp Fine Art. Fine Art and Illustration. Monday, August 13, 2012. 18x24 Oil on board. This is a composition I created from a couple photos I took while in Antigua, Guatemala in 2010. I really don't think the scan does it justice. The finish is very shiny and it catches the light from the scanner. I love painting the people from Guatemala and El Salvador, the descendants of the Maya. I have a couple compositions ready to paint from El Salvador. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
