Hiking in the Cinque Terre | Laura's Rome Blog
https://laurainrome.wordpress.com/2009/11/26/hiking-in-the-cinque-terre
Laura's Rome Blog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Hiking in the Cinque Terre. November 26, 2009. I took this picture at night in the town of Riogomore, one of the five towns in the Cinque Terre. This picture of the coastline is one of my favorites-it truly defines the Cinque Terre. A view of Monarollo, the third town on the hike. It was really cool to take pictures as we hiked along, because you could see all the towns in the distance. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Laura's Rome Blog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. In Step with Romeo and Juliet. October 15, 2009. The first monument we saw upon our arrival in Verona! This arena, styled like the Coliseum, hosts concerts and other cool events throughout the year. There was actually an Italian pop star in town playing at the arena the weekend we were there! A pretty side street in Verona. Notice the lack of crazy drivers and traffic that exists in Rome. What an nice getaway! Going out in Verona! Standing on Juliets ...

Laura's Rome Blog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. A Florence Holiday…. September 23, 2009. This is a view of the Duome, the famous neo-Gothic cathedral that stands proudly in the heart of Florence. Another side view of the Duomo. An up close look at the intricate and ornate designs on the Duomo-its pretty overwhelming to take it all in at once! The inside of the cathedral in the Duomo. An upwards look into the dome! A picturesque view of Florence from within the dungeon-like windows. Almost there!

ready for anything
Saturday, January 28, 2012. I finally made a wet bag to use for "used" cloth diapers. I have been 1/2 time cloth diapering for almost two years. I have always used a plastic grocery sack and hung it in the closet. It really works well, just not that pretty. Today while watching the Cyclones beat KU I made one. I followed this tutorial http:/ www.lemonsqueezyhome.com/2010/05/wetbag-tutorial.html. But modified the dimensions to be 17"x20". Links to this post. Sunday, May 15, 2011. Links to this post. An American among Aymaras
An American among Aymaras. Wednesday, November 05, 2008. Proud to be an American Abroad. And I was taken back to Argentina, 2003. My brother recommended that I put a Canadian flag on my backpack before I left the country. There were days when I wished I had. Everytime I met someone, be it in a cafe, in a classroom, in a club at 3am in the morning, I was asked: "You are American? Are you a Republican? She threw him a few pesos as he stopped at the next stoplight, and promptly jumped out. Being in Latin Am...
laura in real life
Sunday, August 2, 2015. The latest family history project. The latest project: Mapping my chromosomes. This is fascinating- and time consuming. Just what I need, another time consuming project! Anyway, it's very interesting stuff. Once you get your chromosomes mapped to your ancestors, then it makes it easier to identify how you're related to people. For instance, the lady who sent me a message on ancestry.com and wanted help figuring out how we're related? It sure narrows the focus of where to look.

After not being able to get our coffees to go in Rome, the familar big block green letters of Starbucks warmly welcomed us. The one and only astronomical clock, which is one of its most well-known symbols. The home of Mozarts first symphony. Zambia – the real Africa. Zum sekundären Inhalt wechseln. September 22, 2013. Solltet i...

Current topics in science and society. How Geckos Stick without being Sticky. All images courtesy of Dr. Kellar Autumn's geckolab. It started on a Hawaiian vacation. Dr. Kellar Autumn, at the time a postdoc in UC Berkeley’s integrative biology facility, was taking a break from his work on robotics and cockroach locomotion. He envisioned a relaxing getaway on the Big Island; what he found was a cluster of cane spiders and his path to scientific fame. So Autumn, now a professor at Lewis and Clark College i...
Senegalese Adventures
M Be Seyila/ Goodbye. All photographs were taken during my last month in site. I was sitting in the back of a land cruiser, surrounded by my baggage and jumbled thoughts. The two Senegalese men sitting up front were both Peace Corps employees, one hired to drive and the other hired to assist new volunteers with their local language…. Continue reading →.
