All was prepared for a traditional fried chicken and potato salad picnic to celebrate July 4th. Five minutes after setting up, it started pouring rain and we had to head inside . . . Jean-François did re-hang the American mailbox, so that counts for some patriotism! Oh well, in 10 days it is July 14th, so we will have another try at it! Joyeux 4th of July!

Bastille Day party in Tauxigny - still fun even though it had to be held indoors because of rain . . . The fireworks were cancelled, but we still enjoyed seeing the military parade on the Champs Elysées in the morning, over croissants and hot coffee! Chamallow greated his friends in the field by the river Echandon, and the weekend finished off nicely with a little sun. Joyeux 4th of July!
