Domestic Violence Shelter and Services. For Abused Women and Their Children. In the Laurel House Children's Program, three full-time child advocates work with the children and their mothers, both in shelter and in the Bridge Housing Program, to address the issues related to children witnessing or experiencing domestic violence. 70% of children who live in homes where there is domestic violence are also abused. 65% of children who witness violence in the home enter into abusive teen and adult relationships.
