Polenta Triangles with Fried Olive Sauce | Lauren & Jesse
https://laurenandjesse.wordpress.com/2009/11/23/polenta-triangles-with-fried-olive-sauce
Who are these people? Parsley Potato Breakfast Hash. Easy Spinach Latkes →. Polenta Triangles with Fried Olive Sauce. November 23, 2009. I always struggled with polenta; when I tried to pan fry it it was always too thin, or I had too much oil and it would totally disintegrate. I experimented this time and came up with a great recipe that is easy to make and tastes great! It takes a bit of prep, but it’s not hard, you just have to be patient! We laid down the arugula, then the polenta triangles (that were...
Golden Vegetable Empanadas with Jalepeno Aji | Lauren & Jesse
https://laurenandjesse.wordpress.com/2010/01/14/golden-vegetable-empanada-with-jalepeno-aji
Who are these people? Golden Vegetable Empanadas with Jalepeno Aji. January 14, 2010. Jesse’s mom gave me the recipe for these delicious savory empanadas! They are pretty labor-intensive but trust me they are worth it; each one is a little pocket of delicious goodness. These are Columbian style– they are like little arepas stuffed with filling and fried, as opposed to other styles of empanadas that have more of a bready or doughy crust. First, follow the arepa recipe here. So these take forever to make a...

Who are these people? Polenta Triangles with Fried Olive Sauce. Golden Vegetable Empanadas with Jalepeno Aji →. January 3, 2010. These are so easy they barely count as cooking, but they taste really good and for one of those days where you don’t feel like spending a ton of time in the kitchen, why not make make some quick comfort food from scratch? You can cook these in about 15 minutes, and they have a really great homemade taste and texture to them. This entry was posted in Recipes. Build a website wit...

Who are these people? Arancini- Italian Rice Balls. Polenta Triangles with Fried Olive Sauce →. Parsley Potato Breakfast Hash. November 9, 2009. Breakfast potatoes are one of those things that you think are a no-brainer until you try to fry a raw potato for the first time. I was the supper of the waxwing slain: Delhi
http://didactickatydid.blogspot.com/2013/08/delhi.html
Wednesday, August 14, 2013. One day in Delhi! We had a great home-cooked meal at BC and HC's house, but no real pictures. Before heading to the airport, we went out to Punjabi By Nature. Golgappa shots with jaljeera vodka. I know this is a gimmick but it is kind of a terrible idea. You need to chew golgappas at least a couple of times before swallowing, so you end up chewing a mouthful of vodka for awhile. Ugh. Amritsari fish and tandoori chicken:. Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Cabane à Sucre Au Pied de Cochon. After our last visit to Montreal. And our amazing meal at Au Pied de Cochon. We were excited to hear that APDC had a sugar shack each season among the farms outside Montreal. Reservations were quite hard to come by, apparently, but we emailed them one minute after midnight on the day they began taking requests for the year (Dec.1) and lo and behold, we got an 8pm slot on the Sunday night of their opening weekend! Duck legs wrapped in a mousse ...

Friday, June 29, 2012. After a really, really hard day, we went to WD-50 (taking Samir there for his long-past birthday.it took months to even track down a 6:30 reservation! We all got the current ("new") 12-course tasting menu; Priya used to work with the sous-chef and she sent us out a bunch of extra stuff (three extra courses from the "from the vault" tasting menu of their classic dishes! And comped us our fancy cocktail drinks! MACKEREL NIGIRI, SALSIFY, SEAWEED, SESAME. WHITE CHOCOLATE, GJETOST.

Sunday, January 20, 2013. Coq au vin and kale-peanut salad. I have often used Alton Brown's coq au vin recipe, but this time I tried Cook's Illustrated's. it needed more than double the stated amount of liquid (two bottles of wine, 5 cups of chicken broth) but I think it came out better in the end. Priya made a kale salad with red peppers and a peanut dressing that was awesome. Saturday, January 19, 2013. Priya's birthday brunch 2013. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Sunday, May 19, 2013. In the past week or so, a handful of new restaurants have sprung up in our immediate neighborhood. With my parents down to visit, we tried River Styx. Right near Transmitter Park, by the Roebling Tea Room folks) on Saturday night. (between River Styx and Achilles Heel- where I spent today drinking coffee and grading papers- my mom- a Latin teacher by trade- almost had a stroke from excitement). Sunday, August 4, 2013. We spent about six days in Kerala- most of it in Kochi (Ft. Cochin area), but also some time in Alleppey (where we took a houseboat around the backwaters overnight) and Kumarakom. In Ft Cochin, we encountered our favorite simple restaurant; we would visit it three times. During our short stay. Dal Roti served delicious kati rolls and also pretty good North Indian dishes. Wednesday, August 22, 2012. In Portland for Karl and Rachel's wedding on the Olympic Peninsula. lovely city, delicious food! We walked around downtown a little on our first day. for lunch, we went to a large block of food carts ("pods") and ate Hainanese chicken at Nong's Khao Man Gai. we had been warned that the lines were incredible, but I think for Portland that means a little over 5 minutes. for $1 extra, a generous pile of chicken livers was added to the delicious poached chicken breast. When we ret...

Right now, the p...
