Friday, August 14, 2009. We had no idea what we were doing, and felt even less confident when we noticed no one else was digging on shore. We did however see several people in the water up to their thighs with larger quahog rakes and floating baskets brimming with the large clam. Were we even in the right spot? We could hardly believe it. A little more digging – and another one! It was quite a learning experience, clearly quahogs are more abundant - in the area we were in anyway, and digging for steamers...

Sunday, October 18, 2009. One of the oldest professions in New England, whaling, has thankfully been abolished; because now we get to watch in awe the graceful beauty they possess as they feed off Stellwagen Bank. We went rather late in the season so we weren’t sure how cold it was going to be. But as it turned out, we had a nice sunny day with calm waters; a cozy sweatshirt and we were good to go. Monday, September 7, 2009. Sail Away from Falmouth. We did just that for an impromptu day trip to Martha’s Vineyard. The reasonably priced Island Queen ferried us from Falmouth to Oak Bluffs under a sunny sky and over calm seas to one of the most visited summer destinations in the North East. Monday, April 5, 2010. Another great March day, another great Cape Cod trail - The Great Island Trail in Wellfleet. Part of the Cape Cod Natural Seashore, the Great Island Trail provides several miles of trails through forests, along marshes and the seashore. A little bit of everything. Thursday, January 7, 2010. JUST KEEP SWIMMING, JUST KEEP SWIMMING. As you know, I started to swim because my knees were bothering me while using the elliptical machine. Well, it's been about a month since then and I have become obsessed with swimming! I think I swam 15 laps at the most, some a full stroke, some with a kick-board and some with a thing that I can't remember the name of, between my legs to keep me from kicking. I was whipped by the time I finished!

A little bit of everything. Saturday, July 25, 2009. Pollywog College. That's the name of the summer cottage that my mom and uncle own. It was named Pollywog Cottage, but my aunt called it college as a little girl and the name stuck. My grandfather bought it when my mother was a little girl and there hasn't been a summer in my life that I haven't been up there. It's on Long Pond in Plymouth and is heaven on earth. And, more importantly, if I apply and am hired, am I expected to dress like a rockstar? I just can't see myself dressing like Pat Benetar, or the girls from Vixen in order to go to work!
