Did you really think I could stay away this long? Friday, June 8, 2007. Wow, so here I am. On a bus. Going to. Sorry, I haven’t posted anything for a while. It’s been quite a week. Let’s see if I can recap. I left La Vega exactly one week ago (though it seems like a lot longer ago then that) and took a bus up to the YWAM base in. Aka The Capital) where I planed to stay for only a few days and then go to. I THOUGHT I was ready to go to. I immediately felt like I had returned home. My time was amazing.

Did you really think I could stay away this long? Thursday, May 24, 2007. Do I look Dominican yet? Well, it is going on my 4th day here. We've done some cool stuff but it's mostly ju. St been relaxing. Tomorrow I'm going to Jarabacoa (where I did my DTS) to visit some friends. That should be fun. We also are going to get some of the best chicken in the world! Did I mention that I like it here? PS Looking forward to more updates. May 27, 2007 at 1:42 AM. I want one of those sandwiches, too.

Did you really think I could stay away this long? Sunday, May 27, 2007. Is anything really "breath-taking"? On Sunday we went to church in the mourning and then the family that we stayed with took us out to eat. It was a good ol' (big) Dominican meal. (I'm still full). Well, I leave in a couple hours for Sosua so I better start getting ready. I didn't get any pictures of this weekend but I hope to take some tomorrow. God Bless and peace out! Did you really think I could stay away this long? Monday, May 21, 2007. ESTOY AQUI.por fin. Right now I am staying with some good friends of mine, Nicole and Pedro. They are already spoiling me as they greeted me at the airport with a bag of plantitos (only my favorite Dominican chips) but not just regular plantitos, plantitios CON QUESO! Life is good. Nicole also had a plate of brownies waiting for me when we arrived at there home. Seriouly, what more could you ask for? La Vega, Dominican Republic.

I took it a step further with this amazingly yummy, nutritious and- best of all- filling smoothie. Some context: This summer I bought a hand blender and since then, I've been crazy for the smoothies. Ingredients: 1/3 to a 1/2 cup of canned pumpkin (The more pumpkin you use, the more intense the flavor. I use a 1/2 cup.). 1 cup soy milk.
